Per espn.com

Washington Commanders running back Clinton Portis' release is imminent -- likely tomorrow, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Despite another injury-plagued season, Portis still considers himself an elite running back.

"I know I got good football left in me," Portis told reporters on Wednesday. "I think being fresh, having been really in the last two years not having a lot of contact, I think the two injuries -- going out with a concussion, and then the torn groin -- was really fluke injuries. I don't think that's a wear and tear, like, 'Oh his body broke down.' I think that was just fluke injuries."

he was once a player for Mike S....he didnt want him then..n maybe does not want him now

Trading Champ Bailey for him several years back was another brilliant Snyder move.

Not that bad actually.

It might have worked out better for the Commanders when all is said and done.

Champ is a very good CB yet vastly overrated.

What do you mean? It's all said and done.

Portis is getting cut and Bailey just got an extension.

what do you think zoners, should we take a look?

haha i kid i kid

Shame he got traded to Washington and had nagging injuries, he could have been an all-timer. Most people forget that he was on pace to shatter the rushing record after his first four years, had nearly 6,000 yards by his 25th birthday.

Lolololololol. Redsk*ns. Lol.

He's done. Like many backs, he started out with good vision, good speed and also had better then most quickness. Now he's got the vision and nothing left. I will say he's really good at blitz pickup and a smart football player. The body however has just been beat to smithereens.

No it was horrible, no 2 ways about it.

An elite defender for an oft-injured RB. It was especially bad when you consider how easy it is to find a good RB.

Dude anything comes out of your mouth. Unbelievable!!

Sign him for vet minimum and use him as a tackling dummy, so the defense can practice tackling............then cut him before the season starts:D

It wouldn't work, he's known for falling down when the defense gets near him..:D
