There are time we all second guess coaching decisions and moves. And it's easy to criticize from our chairs and sofas and bar stools. But it's tougher on the spot than we all think.

We have the luxury of the hindsight watching it to se elf success or failure then whine and complain or cheer and say ...great play call....
As to where they have only a few seconds to make a choice.

However all that is a mute point . However, today they had great, fantastic clock management and use of time outs......perfect ....

Actually, they were not perfect. The last Cowboys series near the end of the first half was not managed very well at all given the little time left. The Steelers should have either not gotten the ball back or at least wiped out their time outs. Instead, they got a chance to add a field goal and the Cowboys were lucky it turned out to be a long one and they missed it.

Yes, but I was thinking more at the end of the game....I should have specified that.....

Yes!!! They went pass happy again and didn't run the ball even once, very lucky that Stealers did not score again before half. Garrett still struggles with clock management.

Only thing I am questioning as far as coaching goes for this game is calling those awful fade patterns to Dez. I think they have only been successful maybe once so far this season?. It's such a low percentage play to begin with and it looks like it's not really a throw that Dak is very good at so far.

I am not a JG fan to say the least, but I had little to complain about this game.

It was above average like someone else called out the series before half was pretty bad.

As big and physical as Dez is, he should be running slants and posts at will against most of the DBs he faces.

I would like to see us move at a little bit of a faster pace once we get Zeke going. Just wear on the front 7, giving them little time to recover after each play, and no chance to sub in fresh players.

I don't feel comfortable when the Cowboys decide to receive the first half kickoff. That always has us fighting for the games in the last minutes. Anybody else feel that way?

Sometimes teams who receive the second half kickoff even get back to back possessions making it easier to get some scoring mid game.

If you are gonna go for the 2-point conversion you gotta go with your o-line and star RB to make two yards. You throw passes and you run the risk of turning it over and letting the defense score (which it can do on a 2-point try).

This was not a good coached game offensively, zeke willed them to the win. Dak did well enough too but Zeke closed it out.

The calls and execution on some of the 3rd downs was below average.......at least 3 times we failed on 3rd and 2 or less......I hate when they pack everyone in tight.......but that is really nitpicking

I prefer to spread out the defense. In years past they were not good in the jumbo package. This year is different but they still run better when spread out, but that is just my observance. I have not looked at the stats to verify.

I'm going to go ahead and question the decision to leave McFadden one on one against Antonio Brown after Oscan departed.

WTH?

Earth to couch coaches.... Dallas WON. IN Pittsburgh. With a FOURTH round QB. MINUS two defensive starters. 42 seconds and a score.

Let us nitpick butterflies and their migratory habits, shall we?

Jesus.......

You are basically saying the Cowboys should have run the ball 3 times and gone into the half. This after you witnessed a 97 yard drive in about 40 seconds by the Cowboys in a few seconds to close a half a few weeks ago. I mean I get being conservative but that's over the top.

I have no problem with being aggressive .. I actually like that the Cowboys play calling is more aggressive. However, in that situation, with under a minute remaining, the last thing I want to do is let them score before the end of the half knowing they get the ball again to start the second half. The Cowboys were down 2 points, which meant giving the ball back to the Steelers could have put them at risk of being down two scores or more before they ever get the ball back in the second half. Not to mention, passing deep in your own territory increases the chances of a turnover costing you points.

As I said, I like the aggressiveness, but after the failed play on first down, they should have then run the ball twice and at worst, forced the Steelers to use two of their timeouts and at best, maybe had Elliott get a first down. It was poor clock management in that situation.
