Is there a reason why When the saints were driving on their last drive we continually let them run the clock down and then started calling timeouts only after the two minute warning? Why not call before?

Are we just chalking this up toJason Garret being an idiot and not know how a clock works?

Thought the same thing. But I can't remember the time. Couldn't the Saints then have just run it down to the 2 minute warning anyway? So what would we have saved? 10 seconds?

If he calls those timeouts when you wanted him too and we don't make the stop and they run the clock out and we never get the ball back you still would blame this on Garrett. So you don't really have a point.

that was the right move...….. you have to try and stop them...its a long down situation, 1st and 20....you expect your defense to step up.....spend all those timeouts and then inside the 2 minutes you are dead...…..that was the right call...

10 Seconds would have made a big difference at the end!

They played this correctly.

Under 2 minutes and the Saints close to fg range leading by 2, the play call (run)becomes even more predictable. The Saints want the field goal attempt to push lead to 5, meaning Dallas must score a TD to win with no TO's to use.

We played good D there and then the Saints gambled and Bridgewater was smeared at almost mid-field.

I thought we would get the 3, but Connor Williams had other ideas after the punt.

The one thing they could have done was call a timeout right before the 2 minute warning. Then you still have one timeout in your pocket.

Their last first down came with less than 2:05 on the clock. If we'd called time outs earlier, they would have been able to run the clock down much further than they did. The clock management was fine.

My two biggest blames tonight go to Moore and the Oline.

Huh? Their last first down came with about 2:05 left. Call a time out then and you still need 3 clock stoppages. Doesn't save a time out. Maybe saves 3 seconds or so, but it also gives them a free pass play before the 2 minute warning. Better to save the time outs on the chance that they go out of bounds or throw an incompletion.
