When we the last time we've seen Roy lay some wood on someone? It seems the biggest opportunity was yesterday when Gonzo basically just walked through Roy's leg tackle. It seems like Roy is going after the legs a LOT lately. It doesn't seem like he's going after the "Big Hit" anymore. I would have gone nuts if Roy would have laid Gonzo out last night, but instead, Gonzo runs right through his tackle for a big gainer. Honestly, I see Davis coming up w/ more "Big Hits" than Roy and that's not like him.

Maybe seeing the Deadskins this coming week will put that spark back into him and he can be the Roy we all know and love. I sure hope so, I can't stand when he dives 5 yards and goes for the legs. Sure, most of the times he does make the tackle, but I miss the "Big Hit". C'mon Roy, bring the wood next week, PLEASE!

I don't think Roy's problem is laying wood. I think Roy is not an exceptional tackler. I think Roy uses impact to stop ball carriers all too often. I've seen guys run out of Roys grasp many times. I honestly hope he works on this during the off season. It will make him a much better player.

Ummmm....didn't Roy force a fumble in the second half of the Denver game?

Rich..........
he can't lay them out every single game, as much as we all would like.

I just can't agree with that. He hits people, they stop moving. The Gonzales miss was the first one i've seen from him in a while. Even so, it is Tony Gonzales. Pretty good athlete i'd say.

Another thing yall guys must understand is, that all the NFL teams are very aware of Roy. So now they try to game plan where they dont send there receivers around him only if its gonna be a huge bomb over his head.. I mean dont get me wrong ive seen times this season and towards the end of last year, when Roy should have been laying out receivers and RB's but im thinking its just the other teams gameplan now and has effected his numbers and big hits.. But hes still the ROY I LOVE!!! he did put Philly 6 feet under again this year by returning the INT to the House!!

Earlier in the season, I thought he was trying to hard to knock the player out and felt he should focus more on just making the play/tackle. Lately though, he's missed a couple of tackles that your starting SS has to make. Mu guess it that our D is getting a refresh this week after some obvious mistakes yesterday.

Yes...and in the Giants' game at the goal line, but funny thing...when he causes those fumbles, it's because he's actually hitting people. If he tackles like he did yesterday, especially the belly-flop, sweep the ankles style, he's seen his last ever fumble.

Roy Williams is playing great and will be going to his 3rd straight Pro Bowl.

Gonzales is a very good athlete. All the more reason you should use good technique. I mean, it's not like Roy had a bad angle on him. He had time to do it right. He tried to ankle bit him and Gonzales used his athleticisam to skip the hit and go for a big gain. On the play with Gonzales, Roy neither hit or used good tackling techinique IMO.

Yes. He also forced a fumble in the 4th quarter of the first Giants game when he drilled the crap out of Brandon Jacobs on the goal line.

Roy is having a Pro Bowl season. He's been all over the place making stops and forcing fumbles, not to mention the game winning INT vs. the Eagles.

He misses one freaking tackle yesterday and people are wondering what's wrong with him? Personally, I'd hate to see where we would be without him.

Roy promised Santana Moss something after the last game.

I'd sure like to see him deliver -- unlike L. Coles, Moss isn't tough enough to take a good shot from Roy and bounce back.

Nothing would make me happier than to see Roy lay out Moss. Don't want to wish injury on anyone, so I'll hope that the hit causes Moss to sit out the rest of the game with a case of extreme fear.

Also, I'm a little curious as to where people are getting this idea that Roy is not making tackles. That one against Gonzo was the first miss I've seen in a while. He is usually a solid tackler even when he is not making the big hit.

I'm gonna keep my eye on Roy Sunday. He owes us (even if it wasn't his fault last time - allegedly :)

I think Roy is trying not to get any personal fouls and trying to hard to be technically sound instead of just playing football. I still love ya Roy.

Roy's massive hits resulted in a lot of misses earlier this year and he was on the verge of injuring our guys in the process. The coaching staff is implementing damage control IMO. The blowup tackles are nice to see but also induces tunnel vision when he isn't looking for the ball for a possible pick/deflection. Roy has to cover every now and then. The blow-up hits are nice but he needs to be able to tackle, which IMO, is more important.

Wouldn't you like to see Dwayne Slay at FS next year?

No, I think Slay projects better to Strong. Now Huff, I think could play a nice FS in the NFL.

I think you have been watching different games than I have.

Roy just tried to speed bump tackle. That is a CB's technique. I am sure he is ashamed!
