Ha Ha Clinton Dix- Saftey- Alabama The Cowboys Need DL help badly, but they really need help on the Defense as a whole. And in this scenario they don’t have a great option on the DL. I could see a trade back situation and grab a Stephon Tuitt or Ra'Shede Hageman. But if they stay pat, Ha Ha’s the pick.

Aaron Donald- DT- Pitt The concerns over his size cause him to fall into the middle of the second round. Being BARELY 6 foot and under 300 pounds the pick is a gamble, but with his high motor and quickness he could be a nice option to get up field in our system. And it addresses a need.

Aaron lynch- DE- USF We get a pass rusher to come off the edge in a rotation and possibly could take over for Ware in a few years if he develops. Would contribute early in a rotation and could maybe kick inside on passing situations.

James Morris- LB- Iowa: Added LB’r depth and someone that could take over for Lee if he can’t kick the injury bug. Smart, heady, hard worker that should translate well into our 4-3.

Shaquille Richardson- CB- Arizona: Tall, Lanky CB that is all the rage in the NFL right now. Not a great tackler and can get lost in space, but has the speed and size you’d look for. Could be the 4/5th CB next year.

James White- RB- Wisconsin- added depth to the back field, had a nice Senior Bowl. Played in the pro-style offense in college.

Ben Gardner- DE- Stanford- Injured last year and stock fell, but Playing in just eight games, Gardner consistently got into the backfield, compiling 7.5 tackles for loss from his defensive end position while collecting 4.5 sacks and nine quarterback hurries. He totaled 19 tackles, one forced fumble and one blocked punt. Worth a late pick.

I'm new to this forum, but love the draft and usually do 4 mocks before the draft... here is my First mock.

Welcome to the Zone! I think it's solid. Realistic enough, which is a pet peeve of mine. I'd be a little disappointed if we came out of the draft without any OL to groom, but we've seen stranger things (see DL, 2013 Draft).

If the first 2 picks went down like that I'd be utterly thrilled. The one less than realistic scenario is Donald falling to mid-R2. I don't see that happening. But I'd be doing backflips if it did, tell ya that much.

I like the 1st 2 and last 2 picks but not crazy about the middle. I think there are better options at lb and de than the 2 you chose. And replace the CB with a G/T.

Not a bad february mock though

I think we are going to have to decide between pick one and pick two because Donald won't be there by our 2nd pick, unless we trade back up into the first round.

Thanks for the replies! I have to disagree with you guys on Donald. He's not in the first round in either kipers or mcshays latest mock. He's under sized and is falling right now. I don't think it's far fetched.

Clinton Dix is a terrible pick for this defense. We already have a SS in Church. Dix is not a true ball hawk FS this defense needs.

Actually his stock is rising, especially after the Senior Bowl.

Nice mock. Going defense in the first three rounds is pretty much ideal.

I like James White a lot. He has 4 years of quality college experience without taking the beating of a normal starting RB. His vision and quickness make him surprisingly effective in short yardage situations for a smaller back. He can be effective as a receiver as well. He would be a good fit as an NFL ready backup RB for us.

Not a fan of Dix.....no way Donald falls that far. Don't mind the rest of it.
