In a move that speaks volumes about the focus of the front office, the Cowboys added CB Chris Greenwood from the Detroit Lions practice squad to the 53 man roster. Greenwood is a talented guy who's development has been slowed by injury since being drafted in the fifth round in 2012. At 6'1" tall and 193 lbs he has the size to match up with the bigger, physical receivers that are prevalent in the NFL now. Dallas had let talented smaller corners go earlier in the year as they waited for players that fit the prototype they want for the Kiffin system to become available. Corners in a Kiffin defense have to be able to handle run support as well as the outside receivers. Chris Greenwood fits this bill.

Out of Division II Albion, Greenwood has been clocked in a 4.32 40, 16 reps @ 225lbs, 11'2" broad jump, 43" vertical jump, 4.15 20 yard shuttle and 6.99 three cone drill (per SportsXchange). The dude is big, quick, fast and strong. After injuring his abdomen he spent last year on the IR. He missed a nice chunk of camp this year with a hamstring injury and got caught in a numbers crunch as the Lions are in "win now" mode and the Cowboys secondary is the beneficiary.

We got like 4 years to get it done. Then we will be waiting years for another good qb. I like how they are building though.

There is your reason Moore was let go and never brought back.

This kid, Greenwood, has truly outstanding measureables and I certainly don't blame the Dallas front office for pilfering him from Detroit's practice squad. He's young, big and speedy with great upside. The question is mostly whether or not he'll be able to physically hold up and avoid further injury long enough to learn what his position demands in the pros.

Certainly, anyone with his potential deserves the opportunity to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he has enough durability to get the job done. I'm excited about this acquisition and look forward to seeing what he can do for the Cowboys in the future. There's no question we needed an additional cornerback in the fold to bring the count up to five. Hopefully, it'll work out well.

Almost as good a stat sheet as Courtney Brown(remember him and Alan Ball) who could never make use of his talents.

Romo is the QB of America's Team.

Romo and undrafted story is a great one.

But, if he doesnt win a SB he will not have validated his Cowboy existence. Just a "nice" (find) footnote* in Cowboys History.

Like it or not. That is how it goes. No, thats not my opinion. Its the "Cowboy Way" and it IS Aikman's opinion. "If you dont win the SB then the season was a failure" When it comes to Romo, his career here will have been nice but ultimately a failure. ESPECIALLY ONLY 1 playoff win.

THIS year might really be his last chance.

Nice post, I like these kinds of articles instead of the tired Jerry/Romo/Garrett articles.

Hahahaha sure. A guy who has all of the Cowboys franchise records is just going to be known as a footnote?

I'm entirely uncertain as to why this would be his last chance.

Most of the records Romo has broken were actually Danny White records. And Danny, as good as he was, is a footnote.

So our football team is actually called the Dallas Danny White's? No.

Quincy Carter is a footnote. Drew Henson is a footnote.

Romo and Danny White are not footnotes. Get real.

Reminds me of a CB name Hunter we took in the 4th round years back. Hope this kid develops better than Hunter who also has obscene athletic ability.
