Game four of the 2013 Dallas Cowboys season is coming up this Sunday in San Diego and the defensive unit rotations are shaping up. There will be the rookie exception (J.J. Wilcox becoming a starter), but at this point player skill sets are fairly well defined and except for injury rotations should not change that much from here on out. That makes it a great time to find out exactly who these guys are and where they fit in the Cowboys scheme.

Let's breakdown the Cowboys rotations into four units.
  • Safeties (5)
  • Cornerbacks (5)
  • Linebackers (6)
  • Defensive Linemen (9)
That's hardly the setup the Cowboys opened the season with, yet looks to be a good bet to remain the status quo as Dallas moves forward. This is a rotational depth chart with rookies in bold, some players will be listed more than once. Sims for instance backs up all three linebacker positions. Check out the positional colors that reflect depth. A big upgrade from the preseason! You can view all three depth charts here as we update them throughout the season. Offense and Special teams updates coming soon.
