In part one of this week's chat with the National Football Post's Wes Bunting, he looks at the underclassmen who have just declared, and whether one of them would be a better fit for Dallas with its first pick.

Cowboys Nation: Which juniors have you graded in the last week who look like possible 1st round picks?

I like the tape I've seen of Ingram.

If DeCastro is gone that is my pick.

If Decastro is still there it is a bit of a dilemma. The pass rusher would instantly make our defense much better but we could really use a premier interior player for our short yardage offense which is abysmal.

I'd say the needs favour the pass rusher so if the grades are similar go with the pass rusher. If DeCastro grades out much higher just go with the BPA and take the OG. I'd probably be more in favour of this if we could drop 5 spots and still take him and gain a 3rd rounder in the process. We have so many needs compared to draft picks.

Our moves in FA may play a big role in dictating our draft strategy.

It will be an interesting offseason.

It will be interesting on if they retain Spencer or not.

If Spencer is resigned I wouldn't look for Dallas to draft another OLB in any of the early rounds.

I'm a Bruce Irvin guy. However, I don't know if he would fit in this defense opposite of Ware.

Irvin is a passrusher period. To get the most value from him you need to have him focused on getting to the QB, not holding the edge, covering receivers, et cetera.

He would work best the way the Broncos are utilizing Von Miller or how Aldon Smith is worked in with the 49ers defense.

If you believe the scouting reports DeCastro is the best interior lineman perhaps since Maurkice Pouncey and by far the best in this draft. Ingram on the other hand, is arguably not even the best OLB prospect in THIS draft. With Upshaw, Perry, Mercilus, Curry, Jenkins, and Lewis all being available in the 1st and 2nd rounds its not even a question for me that Decastro would be the no brainer pick.

I'm curious as to what passrushing OLBs will be available in free agency.

Hmmmm.

I wonder if Cliff Avril could man that spot?

I like Michael Griffin too.

I was actually thinking that scanning over that list as well. Heres a nice little scouting report on him coming out of college from the combine. www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/cliff-avril?id=1330 Says he played OLB in highschool and even a little early on at Purdue. Could be an interesting option....Ryan would love having a guy like that at his disposal.

He's at a great age, 26. Also, FWIW, he was a "Top Performer" at the Combine in the 3-cone, which tells me he has some agility.

Wonder if Detroit would let him walk?
