Coach Conservative Stikes Again

The Cowboys nearly mounted what could have very well been a season defining comeback against the Skins. The Boys looked dead in the water after Dak lost a fumble that was returned for a TD to give the Skins a 20-10 lead with less than 5 mins left in the game.

That's when Dak brought the Boys back in a big way, ultimately finding themselves in plus territory and down by just three points with less than a minute left. The Conservative Garrett would then come back to haunt Dallas. Beasley DID make the catch on the Skins 31 with 11 seconds left. As the call was confirmed, Garrett had time to draw up a play. It was first and ten with one timeout remaining. He ran up the middle with Zeke instead of attempting a pass in the end zone.

If the Skins had prepared for that, a dump off pass would have netted positive yardage. Instead, Maher doinked a 52 yarder. It was just a dumb play call from Coach Conservative which has our Boys at 3-4 through seven games. Ok, I'm finished ranting!

That’s what I kept saying during the game. The deadskins were going to protect the end zone and sidelines. A simple dump off play to Elliot was going to get us 5 to 10 yards and when it’s Elliot you never know if he gets a big one. If that same kick was made from 5 yards closer then it goes through. Of course the refs couldn’t help but mess with us. A total BS call.

At least we're not alone in that regard. Shumar totally botched the midget's chances last night with not one, but two qb sneaks by Eli. Ran 36 seconds off the clock, essentially ending any chance of getting a field goal to tie the game even if they got the onside kick. And to top that, the kick was like 25 yards downfield, any midget player would have to run 2-3 seconds just to get to the ball, and the kick was made with 5 seconds on the clock, and any fight for the ball would run off the other 2 seconds.

Dallas didn't really do anything different (another Garrett staple) their last two drives. The Skins went into prevent and gave them life. If they had stuck with the same defense they had run the entire game the last minute dramatics never happen.

52 seconds + a Timeout and he gets 2 Plays off. This is just plain bad. Not even Division III Pop Warner Highschool Level of Coaching.

I get you potentially 6 Plays off in that Scenario. The only Thing you cant do in that Scenario is run up the middle and what did we do?

Saw an article where allegedly Gruden had pre warned them about a snap infraction. Also heard Dean Blandino ( infamous catch non catch official ) state on NFL Sirrius show there should have been no penalty called but for the fact that with the D lineman jumping offsides one needed to be called
on one team or another.

To me Gruden pre planned this fiasco and gambled that he could get 5 yards added on for the infraction causing the jump, instead of what should have been called with a 5 yard penalty on the skins making it an even shorter FG that more than likely would have cleared as it wasn't distance , it was the curve at the end that hit the bar....
