Coach JG question

I don't want to lose another good asst. coach to a head coaching job. Does anyone know if JG has a clause in his contract like the Deadskins DC?

I'm pretty sure the Wash. DC gets something like $5million if he is not given the HC job after Gibbs. I would love Jerry to show Jason some extra $$$ to try to keep him around.

I just think it's funny that our 1st year Offensive Coordinator, in only his 2nd or 3rd year of coaching, is showing more promise than a $2 million dollar version in DC.

It puts a smile all over my face.

Greg Williams gets 1M if he is not the next head coach in Washington...and I hope he becomes the next head coach in Washington, because if he does they will be average for his entire tenure....he does not have the people skills to be a head coach..he rubs too many people the wrong way and he would rather eat live rats than to let his offense win games for him. As for Jason Garrett, I hope he see's the opportunity he has in Dallas...at Wade's age, he will get 2 years in Dallas tops! We are good enough to make the Super Bowl THIS year....he will also get next year just because it would be unfair to can him after 1 year if we advance in the playoffs. But Wade is no spring chicken..he has been handed the keys to a ready made roster...if this team scores 24 - 28 points this year, he should be expected to win NOW. If he does not, then he is not the answer to our defensive woes and thus must be replaced. Additionally, you do NOT let a rising coaching star leave the ranch for a coach in his 60s. Fair or not, that is the way it is. If anything, Jason should be looking to identify who his next defesnive coordinator is going to be, because Garret will be the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys at the start of the 2009 season. Why would he walk away from a young loaded roster, with a young franchise QB... about to enter the best stadium on Earth?

Like the way Wade seems to be running the team. It does appear that finally some leaders are developing. Geez, even TO wanted to get on the leadership wagon and become our #5 non-elected captain. Also appears his decision not to overwork the team in TC is working out. Hopefully we will have some gas in our tank in December. However his 34 defensive is still a work in progress. Hopefully he continues to improve particularly when Newman is back starting. Ellis return, if he back all the way, helps our pass rush a lot.

Having said the above, if our defense hasn't turned around and become one of the top in NFL by end of 08 season, I think Jerry puts him out to pasture and moves Garrett up to HC. Only decision then will be whose DC and bet Garrett already has some people in mind.

In order words, Jason Garrett isn't going anywhere at the end of this season.

I think Garrett has another year on his contract, so JErry would have to give his approval if he were to bolt to a HC postion at the end of the season.
Not 100% sure, but I remember reading that somewhere.

He has to approve a lateral move... not a move to HC.

I wonder if we can have co-head coaches?? Just let Wade take care of the defense and Garrett the offense. Or maybe Wade will take a demotion?

I tend to think Wade will be here longer than 2 years.

Yea, I wasn't sure with the contracts how that played out. Its hard to tell what Garretts aspirations are if he continues the sucess. Regardless, Jerry will have ot shell out more cash if the sucess continues. But hey, if he gets us to the Super Bowl, he can do what he wants. Can't worry about it now.

The team that scares me would be the Giants, Jason played there, they are most likely going to have a opening. It's a big stage and they have a lot of talent on offense.

I think they are one team Jason would have to consider.

there are several things you can take to the bank people

1) Romo isnt going anywhere

2) Dengelo Hall isnt coming here, nor do I think Dallas would even want him

3) Greg Ellis is not getting traded

4) Jason Garrett wont be leaving the Cowboys after the season
