How about because he lost his starting QB, and his starting left OT in the first game, and all kinds of folks (possibly even you) said the season was over, and now his team sits 4-1. Regardless of how we feel about him, this is his team, and he has done everything perfectly this year. Who’s done a better job this year? I’d say Siriani, O’Conell, and McCarthy are the top three right now.

I'm not sure he would be a candidate for coach of the year. But he has turned this team around and coaching is a strength of this team. Not a weakness.

As much as I’d rather have several other people coaching this team, Mike is the best HC we’ve had since Parcells. He deserves a large portion of credit for the success we’ve had so far.

McCarthy and staff have done a great job of getting this team ready. But in judging a coach you must judge the season, after 5 games we are 4-1 and it falls to this staff to keep this team on track.
