Coach MM has 1 year left, will it be hard to find assistants?

Not knowing if MM will be extended past this season, why would any smart coach want to come here and possibly be replaced by a new head coach, who will probably want his guys. Now there are times where that new coach may want to keep guys that are here, or in Dallas FORCED to keep certain coaches here. What are your thoughts on this?? Will it be hard for an assistant to really want to come here?

Not many new assistants are needed if you’re gonna run it back with McCarthy. Joe Whitt Jr is likely your D Coordinator if Dann Quinn leaves. He was almost hired as the D-Coordinator before Quinn ever got here. Has a LOT of input now. Stepped in as the defensive play caller when Quinn was out. Worked under McCarthy over 10 years in Green Bay. If Quinn leaves, I don’t think he can take anybody under contract unless it’s for a promotion. So maybe he takes 1 or 2 coaches, but for the most part your staff is probably the same.

I wanna say yes, but we are still the Cowboys. We will have suitors of name. Ron Rivera hates Dallas so we can rule him out I think. What about Matt Patricia or Sean Desai? Just to piss off Philly? Desea might come in here with a major chip on his shoulder and prove a point. I like an underdog story.

I can see Al Harris being made the new DC. But lets not rule out the Philly DC that was just fired in Sean Desai. Under the radar.

it's a lame duck season, which means another failure in the playoffs (yep crystal ball this !) means both
HC (McCarthy) and most if not of his assistants could be gone ... as soon as Big Mac is assumed gone post playoffs.

What legit top assistant is gonna want that kind of insecurity - being on the edge on a one year rental ?
But here's something to ponder:

1) Hope is those possible candidates really believe they can be make a huge different - whether offensive
or defensive, that they will help put McCarthy over the big huddle,

2) We are the Cowboys, America's Team, and contrary to some opinions, we are still popular and highly valued
enuff for players, coaches to want to come here.

If the Jane Slater reports are true that even prestige, high regarded HC candidates such as Belichek, Harbaugh were interested in Cowboys HC job if there was an opening, what does that tell you about the Cowboys ?

No, the Cowboys are still one of, if not the, highest profile teams in the NFL. Assistant coaches will get more exposure with Dallas than with most any other team....

if Desal put in such a horrific job that not only saw him demoted and replaced by Matt Patricia (another disaster)
then why on earth would we want such a disasterous DC candidate ?

Im saying, its out there. Maybe he wants to stick it to them.

Anyone that comes has to believe in him and this roster. It's that or you get unproven guys hopefully on the way up. Only other options are wash outs.

Promote in house and fill in the gaps with young, ambitious coaches.

Have to hire internally from coaches under contract.

Like Dak, maybe Desai had nothing to work with. Got to give him all-pros at every position. :)
Seriously, no one was making chicken salad with that mess that was the Philly defense the second half of the year.

I assume some of the assistants are still under contract. DQ? Bones? OL Coach? DB Coach Harris?
