Its the only explanation as to why we wouldnt sign him. He is the best of the safeties there is especially for long term. He played for Ryan too. I find that odd.

Not True! Since no one has signed him, my guess is that the Money he wants to make and the money that teams are willing to pay him are no where close to each other. Now if he signs a contract that is considered low.. then we can say that Ryan didn't want him here but right now it's hard to say that.

Probabley wants to much money....

but if the Eagles want to pay him 5 mil a year......go ahead......

rob benched him in oakland.

Who else is available.

Please leave out Elam.... I want someone decent, if not just keep Ball.

5 mil/year is about where Huff's value is at.

Weddle got 8 mil/year and can't cover like Huff can.

I wouldnt pay him that......mabybe his value is around there now seeing how teams have to hit the cap floor.....but I wouldnt throw a 5 yr 25 mil contract his way.

Agreed. The players who are going to get 5+ million a year have already been signed. I could see him getting 3-4 million a season.

You find it odd? I'd say it should tell you everything you need to know about Ryan's opinion of Huff's cost v. ability. Clearly, the team doesn't think he's worth the money he's hoping to get in FA right now.

He really didn't come into his own while Ryan was there. I think he's a much better safety now, but Ryan might still be focused on the warts from his first few years.

Huff came into his own during his contract year...a strange coincidence

Now he's not signed by anyone yet cause his contract demands are too high

he had a better year in 09, keep talkin though

The interceptions weren't that impressive. It's like the QB's were throwing right to him, with nobody else around. He better make the int!
What impressed me was the final highlight, where he caused Rivers to fumble. That in itself was impressive, but more so what he did to Rivers during the return. He was down, and got up to run interference by blasting Rivers out of bounds.

Regardless of the Huff work ethic stuff permeated by Sapp, Huff is a HUGE improvement over Allan Ball as a safety that's not even up for discussion in my opinion but if RR doesn't like the guy, I wouldn't expect him to be signed. I am betting on Elam. We seem to like bringing back old Parcells guys anyways...

Elam is a good player. He isn't a probowler but is better than Sensy and knows Ryan's system. Pool would be a nice add to since he also knows the system.

People want to bad mouth Huff when he was with Ryan in Oakland. Remember he was coming straight out of college where he was a CB then a FS part time. Ryan put him at SS. Since Huff switched to FS where ha had more of a chance to roam and play back he has been alot better. One of the top 10 safeties in the NFL. His asking price has to be high right now. Thats the only reason why he hasn't gotten picked up.

5 mil a year would be great! If we could get him in here for 5 years, 25 mil with say 15 guaranteed, I think that is worth it.

Didn't Rolle get almost 7 a year from the Giants?

I am kind of surprised Huff hasn't been signed. I figure he is asking for too much money.

What? No he isn't! Huff is average at ABSOLUTE best! Gerald Sensabaugh (when not burdened with Alan Ball playing beside him) is better than Huff.
