If anything good was ever going to be a result of the efforts of the two clowns, they’d need to trip over it.

Shoddy was definitely not plan A, McCarthy was, because that required little effort or evaluation skills. They can’t be bothered with all that, but would certainly be in line to take all of those accolades should miracles occur.

Without knowing what happens behind closed doors, id say most players, nowadays, don't take kindly to being ripped, especially in public. The psychology of coaching is extremely important in order to be successful in today's game. Not sold on him, but im willing to give him a chance. Not that it matters, what I think

That applies to pretty much any job. Everyone has different ways of bring motivated.

I have a friend that is you insult him, he gets motivated. The more you tell him he can’t do something or he suck’s, the harder he tries. On the other hand, that doesn’t work for me.

Absolutely right about the psychology of the players and yet...there has to be a healthy fear. Maybe not from Dak whose gotten paid to be mediocre, but the 1st/2nd year guy on the roster shouldn't be under any delusions that Schotty is their boy or their friend. It's not only impossible for him to genuinely feel that for everyone, it's a weakness that can be exploited.

Basically, when you're 2-3 and your team is down 21 points...do they give up or are they too afraid to give up? I believe wholeheartedly in positive reinforcement, BUT it must be from a position of strength. A weak person trying "positivity" with alphas will absolutely get run over.

  I was actually sorta thinking that as well. Garrett wasn't like that. Schoty seems Campo-like with more actual football acumen and a personality I think the players and other coaches might like. That might be good. Garrett was just kind of clappy and serious all the time.

Not sure he is growing on me yet but not ruling that out as I get to know his style. He definitely surprised with his offense last year. Just need to see more...

I agree...Garrett was more stoic than Schotty....a bit more reserved about his feelings. Campo had verbal diarrhea and so does Schotty.

And also agree that it could work. I don't think it will, but there's more than one way to win. Just think that with Jerry and Co. you need a different kind of coach.

I'm gonna be honest: At about the 6 minute mark I thought, "This guy is really goofy."

I don't think he has any ability to instill fear, so he better be beloved.

Narcissists want loyalty not competency. When the two are in opposition, they will choose the incompetent person who assuages their feelings over a tough, but fair and honest person. Jerry chose the most pliable goofy guy...we can only pray he is also competent.

Repeating myself, but Schotty is growing on me. Players coach. Honest. Smart.

Now coaching a playoff roster. Pushing the offense to be better than last year. Lets go!!!!!!!!!!

Of course.

But we give him 9 more to prove he is not Garett. Until he is able to he will be nothing more than a Garrett clone.

Right now the way he talks, the way he handles stuff, the way his first year as HC went, the way he has been "aquired", his coaching past and that he chose to sign for one of the worst managed franchise run by the same person who chose Garrett. This all are reasons to view him as another Garrett clone.

So its up to him to prove that stigma wrong. Not vice versa.
