Coaches notes today 8/13/26

so Schotty is lying to us and you are buying it?
He said when he announced that the starters wouldn't play that he had not made up his mind on Downs. Lawrence isn't considered a starter. I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Revel plays because he doesn't have a lot of experience and technically, he might not be considered a starter since he's listed as an or with Durant.

I'm curious about some of the experienced depth players like a James Houston and Ottito Ogbonnia (since he's a starting DE in our 3-4). Don't know if they'll be out there. I think they mainly want to use the preseason to get some experience for inexperienced players and let players on the depth bubble battle it out.

Dominant with gunners on special teams

This was the most important thing I read.

Anyone know who they were?

WR5, CB5, S4. These spots usually go to players who are separating themselves on special teams

Here were the 2025 WRs and DBs who played special teams and are still on the team. I’m omitting Turpin as he is the returner and Fluornoy because after he became the established WR3, he wasn’t on special teams

Caelen Carson - CB
Markquese Bell - S
Zion Childress - CB
Trikweze Bridges - CB
Jonathan Mingo - WR

Here are some other guys who have played special teams at the NFL level

Ameer Speed - CB
Julius Wood - S
P.J. Locke - S
Alijah Clark - S
Marquez Valdes-Scantling - WR
Tyler Johnson - WR

So, anyone who has a pet cat DB or WR, hit them up on social media and tell them to go to Sorensen and volunteer for special teams.

I’m looking at you Camden Brown, Michael Trigg, Devin Moore and Anthony Smith.

Anyone I’m missing?
