Alot of talk will be about the main coaches....but I think it goes deeper than that...specifically, I see the weakness of this team as far as the Offense goes as being the O-line.

If we are going to change coaches I'll put my vote in for Ferentz of Iowa. I believe that he'd bring in his current OL coach Reese Morgan.

Iowa is known for their good o-lines and I think that he could mold WHOEVER we are going to start next year into a great O-line.

He pretty much does it year in and year out.

I think, and have said repeatedly that the o-line is the most important part of this team.....give me the best o-linemen and average "key" position players, and you'll get more wins than you would from a team with "star" "key" position players and a weak o-line.

Fix that area of this team and it doesn't matter who the HC/OC is.....it'll keep the defense fresher as well as the O will be on the field much longer.

I think there is alot of talk aimed at the wrong area....fix this area and we are set.

Romo never should have earned the nickname "Jedi" as it is a result of him masking the weakness of the offense. He's been doing this since he became a starter....there is no doubt about that.

Get this area fixed....If it takes hiring Ferentz at $5 mil a year, I'd be all for it if he brings Reese Morgan with him.

Just my thoughts on it....

Iowa's Kirk Ferentz will pocket a guaranteed $4.6 million in an atypical 13-month period ending next June, including $1.8 million in one-time payments. With the incentive bonuses he still can earn, he could push his take to more than $4.7 million.

A former NFL offensive line coach, Ferentz has seen his value spike in the wake of approaches in recent years by rival colleges and pro teams. He interviewed with the Jacksonville Jaguars after the 2002 season. Ferentz withdrew from consideration. He received a $72,800 raise, according to The Des Moines Register.

Ferentz's compensation was re-worked again in May. His base salary is $1.4 million this year, and he's guaranteed another $1.4 million in supplemental compensation for radio and TV and other obligations. He also got a $400,000 longevity bonus for still being at Iowa last June 1 and a $1.4 million "one-time lump sum payment" when the school reworked his deal.

Ferentz can get $75,000 for getting his team to a bowl game that pays at least $1 million to each team.

He's also come under fire in Iowa for being the highest paid publicly paid person in Iowa unfortunately.

JJ could pay the guy 5 mil or 6 mil to be the HC here....that's nothing for JJ.

What's the average NFL coach get paid anyway?

I'd rather have a NFL assistant or proven head coach.

Unfortunatly, a "proven head coach" from the NFL ranks may not come here with JJ's rules of how this organization is structured, so you have to work around that....this IS a workaround that can/will work.

He'd be a fool to leave Iowa.

I remember hearing that same thing when Jimmy came here...that he was a fool for going to the NFL and that he should have stayed in college...heard that after his first year in the NFL too.

leave Ferentz be. His greatness in Iowa is the only thing keeping me sane.

Jimmy was a once in a lifetime coach so get over it.

Compare him to every other College coach that regrets their decision of going pro.

Jerry couldn't afford Frenzy. Why would a king leave Iowa to become a pawn in Dallas?

Anyway, Jerry's thinking lock-out....

Jimmy Johnson was the exception. Not every college coach turns into a good one. How many college coaches actually interviewed for a HC job in the last 5 years? I think the number is pretty small. NFL owners are realizing that the NFL is a different game than back in the 80's and 90's when maybe some of these college coaches could come in and be special.

People wanting Farentz, Stoops or any other big name college coach. It ain't happening. They are making more money in college then they would in the NFL really.

Johnson, Switzer and Coughlin are about it in recent times...

He still has a kid playing for Iowa right now.

Maybe when all his kids are grown and gone, he might consider going back to the NFL, but even then I kind of doubt it.
