I've made this post multiple times I think over the past 10-15 years.

You saw it tonight. The giants finally got a coach and it mattered. We keep hiring retreads nobody wants. No toughness, no discipline, mistake after mistake. Just hype The Dallas cowboys are once again a massively overrated team. 30 years of this BS all because the stubborn owner has to win with his hand picked guy.

It's pretty clear CP needs some time to get the defense ready.

He's a good coach. The defense just won't be what we expected as quickly as we all hoped.

I'm talking about the lack of preparation. The penalties, the poor football. The giants are a different team tonight because of their head coach. Coaching matters in this league. and Jerry would rather sacrifice years of this team to get it done with his hand picked guy. Rinse and repeat same story as always.

Whoever's decision it was to not have the starters play some in the pre-season, should probably GO. They looked terrible and it was obvious they weren't ready for the big lights on Defense. The offense looked rusty too, clearly they'll still score some points but it was about as ugly as it could be.

Yes, coaching matters, but the Cowboys have a classic chain of command failure. The players don’t listen to the coaches.

Schottenheimer would have been hired by precisely zero other teams. Many known great coaches have been hired by new teams over the past 3 or 4 seasons, including the one we just played. Other teams have hired elite assistants and are thriving. We hired an assistant of the guy we fired.

Pretty much sums up the last 30 years
Sadly

We were outcoached today. We got almost no pressure outside of the front 4. Couldn't cash in on caused fumbles. Dak decided to be wreckless at the end of the 1st half. We did everything as a team and organization to lose this game.

Yep. Jerry did it with campo, he did It with garret, wade Phillips, schotty.

The only guy that did more with less was bill parcels.

Jerry doesn't care about the fans. He cares about winning his way. and we all have to suffer for it.

He could start by at least trying to adjust. I’ve never seen multiple scoring drives that basically had zero adjustment and left obvious holes like that.

I mean we can talk players but when your coach’s scheme doesn’t put the team in a position to compete, what are you supposed to do?

It’s almost like he took the approach of “surely they won’t do it a second time” and they did. And then he doubled down with “they definitely won’t do it 3 times in a row”. And they did.

we cant overstate "quickly". this D is horrific! They finished the worst in football and they look worse then they did last year. they are just bad as it gets. Dont see the Cowboys winning many games

We hired a career assistant - to whom no other organization saw a leader of men - and then not only asked him to call plays and run the offense but also mentor a 1st year defensive head coach. How many times did Belichick or even Jimmy have to rein in or coach up an assistant? Plenty. Is No Schott in over his head? My answer is yes because Jerry and Dak are also in over their heads.

If Schottenheimer is any kind of coach he pulls Parker in the office and watches film and tells him bluntly

“you didnt adjust a darn thing and allowed them to beat you under all game, if you want to make a name for yourself in the NFL you need to adjust and if you cant do that maybe we hired the wrong guy”

Giants had 10 penalties for 122 yards
