I think Garrett is good. Actually could be pretty good.
The problem is simple. He is applying "the cowboy way" of the 90's and he doesn't have that team or anything close to it.
Just about everything he does/game plans for is based on high % of proper execution. The problem there is: the players we have are good but inconsistent and not closers, the other team will do their job at times and win their individual battles. That's a problem that he doesn't have an answer to. No contingency. So that leaves Garrett and his coaching decisions when things don't go as planned - that then leads to more plays that are go or blow.
It would seem that he couldn't out coach any coach unless something breaks the right way or the player/ players bail him out.
You would figure that a Princeton guy would fare better in chess... But he doesn't. He never learned the game. At this point I am not sure how many moves he truly knows?
