I'm not talking about going out for drinks after a day at the office.

When Wade was prowling the sidelines it seemed as if Joe D was his shadow. I wonder if Joe D. will do the same with Garrett? Or will someone else be in his back pocket come Sunday, say Ray Sherman? I'm curious as to how this staff interacts on the sideline this weekend, as well as how the players react without Wade.

Actually, that will be very interesting. It will also be interesting to see how much interaction he has with his staff while they are on defense. Wade seemed to have very little mike time when the offense was on the field. It will be refreshing to see someone looking coach-like on the sideline in general.

I am looking forward to this Sunday, I am hopeful that a process of transformation is about to begin. I don't expect them to play lights-out, but I do expect to see some energy from not only the players but the staff as well. Will that occur? I don't know, but atleast I have a glimmer of hope and a reason to watch these last eight games.

I doubt the players cared what Wade was doing this season period.
He lost them at camp.

Yeah, it should be interesting for a while. Unfortunately, I think that the Giants are going to gut us quickly with the running game, especially with Spears out, and there probably isn't anything more demoralizing than that. In any case, I hope that we see a few more new faces, fewer penalties and fewer missed assignments.

There is some good that could come out of that, if it were to happen that away. You should be able to evaluate character, who keeps giving effort and who makes a "business decision". Guys who make the "business decision" find their way to the pine until they can get their mind right. I'd rather see a player giving maximum effort getting beat than to see a pro bowl caliber player laying down.

Agreed

Many point out that certain players need to be cut, but certain coaches also need the axe.

Specifically Wade Wilson, Skip Peete, Brett Maxie, Dave Campo, Hudson Houck and Paul Pasqualoni. If Houck is accountable for the poor OL play, then Pasqualoni should be just as accountable for the atrocious DL play. The DL was actually a strength just last season. It is a sieve literally

Campo and Maxie have spearheaded some of the most underachieving secondaries ever to have played on the Cowboys. 3 straight seasons being the bottom of the league in turnovers produced is pathetic.

Assuming Garrett is here for 2011, I would think that there will be quite abit of turnover on the coaching staff. I don't think he he has a choice in the matter, if he gets the job he's going to have to dismiss most of these guys to change the perception/culture that is currently in place. If it were me, I would dismiss the entire defensive staff, retain Joe D. if I thought I could work with him and I'd keep Ray Sherman and John Garrett on the offensive side, everyone else goes. Almost forgot Chris Boniol, if he gets Buehler going by years end I would look to retain him as well.

If Garrett is gone in 2011, which I doubt at the moment, the whole staff will dismissed in my estimation.

I think part of the reason the defensive line is worse this year is the fall off of the linebacker play. Keith Brooking is no longer the force he was last year. He is wearing down, and since there is nobody to play the nickel position, he is simply running himself into the ground. Bradie James was always marginal. He isn't getting any better either. Spencer has virtually disappeared. Ware is also playing at a lesser level than last year, because I think he is trying to cover the inside lanes as well as his own. This was evident against Green Bay, as the OLBs couldn't contain the outside routes of the runners.

There are a lot of holes on defense, a lot of holes. Safeties are slow. Jenkins is playing like a jerk. Newman is no longer a shutdown corner, even though teams throw to Jenkins' side. They're targeting Jenkins because he can't defend regardless of the safeties.

This is an indictment of Jones and his drafting skills. 2009 was a bust for the defense and 2010 is developing into a bust as well.

Agreed. Reggie Herring needs to be held accountable for the development (or lack thereof) for Anthony Spencer, Jason Williams and Sean Lee. That's a 1st round, 2nd round and 3rd round pick we've invested into the linebackers that haven't paid off jack so far.

I misread the title, thought it said coaching staff infection...

Anyways, just thought I'd mention how clever a title that would be
