Interesting.

1 Alabama (57) 12-0 1,520 1
2 Oklahoma (2) 11-1 1,396 2
3 Texas 11-1 1,395 4
4 Florida (1) 11-1 1,384 3
5 USC 10-1 1,297 5

Someone gave Tech a 1st place Vote. Most likely Leach which hurts Texas.

1 point differential in this voting between OU and Texas.

Mack Brown could've really screwed OU had he been a shady voter and someone elses shady voting helped OU.

What a joke College football postseason is.

The Sears trophy should have a Unicorn or Santa Clause on it because its so mythical.

Just to analyze how this affects the big announcement of later today:

Texas has actually gained some decent ground here but I don't think it is going to be enough. As we can see in this poll, TX and OU are virtually tied for 2nd. OU beat Texas by 1 vote out of 1525, whereas last week OU beat TX by 42.

Last week Texas led OU by 0.0084 points in the final BCS tally. Texas has now gained 0.0269 BCS points from the coaches poll relative to where each team stood last week.

I am predicting Oklahoma will gain 0.07 to 0.09 BCS points from the computers relative to where they stood last week (but that's just my wild-*** guess). So it will take a significant improvement in the Harris Poll to overtake OU. I just can't say I see it happening.

Whats unbelievable is any team receiving 1st place votes other than Alabama at this point in the season.

Even more unbelievable is "someone" voting Tech #1.

The flawed system was definetely in play in this poll.

"Politics" abused the system.

Mack could've easily been ranked ahead of OU in this poll if not for the abuse or had he abused the system.

I am of 2 minds on this matter. I certainly understand the logic of putting Alabama ahead of everyone since they are the only undefeated team (from the "Big-6" conferences). But I also believe that just because someone has a better record doesn't necessarily make them the better team. If we look at today's new rankings, then what is Alabama's most impressive win? #19 Georgia? OU has played five teams currently higher ranked than that, beating 4 of them.

I believe Tech's 1 ranking was a mistake and it has since been fixed.

I agree with Catch that no human should vote an undefeated SEC team anything lower than 1. Same thing would go if it were OU or Texas that was undefeated and ppl voted a 1 loss SEC team above us.

I just hope you guys can respect the decision because this one could go either way. Both Oklahoma and Texas are deserving and the final decision will be the right decision.

Nobody's gettin' screwed.
