point is demarco avg 5 ypc before zach martin, he was an excellent pass blocker before zach martin, and was always a pass catching threat before zach martin.

demarco has no control over how much he gets the ball, only what he does with it when he gets it. that production remained steady with or without zach martin.

It's a team sport, and we've arguably a 4 pro bowl caliber OL that helped greatly in producing not only a top rusher, but a career year for an aging QB with a terrible back. Murray is a solid all around back, but please tell me how he compares to the greats? You don't pay $9M+ for a "solid back." You pay a stud that much. I'm not saying just anybody can come in and get 1,800+ behind that line. That took a lot of gas, but you don't need 1 guy to get you 1800 yards. I think everyone can agree we should have spared a few yards for the back ups. We need a guy who can block, catch and hit the hole quick. Job done. If Jones and Barber can do it behind that aging line back in the day, we just should be fine going forward without blowing all of our money. Defense should be a much greater concern.

The USAFA used Contrails as a base level knowledge resource for first year Cadets. You had to know all the knowledge contained in it, and were quizzed at meals during your Basic Summer. If you didn't know manufacturer, armament, and speed of a specific air craft...well, you sat at attention without food. Know about the bust of Eddie Rickenbacker and his bust on the quadrangle of the billeting/school grounds? Well the base of that bust and Contrails told the 'squat do jazzes' about Americas first recognized Ace. And an inscription of man's flight through life is powered by the strength of his knowledge. By the way, know the manufacturer of the F-111? Yep, in the Contrails.

the biggest difference btw demarco last year and years prior isn't the oline, it's the commitment to the run game. last year was actually his third lowest average per carry but he had 180 more carries than any other season prior.

If he had 100 less carries,his ypc would have been incredible last year.
It dropped because he was overworked....should have divided it up more.
Oh well, Philly's problem now
