The NFL has served up some games on frigid games lately. This can be a challenge towards the end of these long seasons when most players have aches and bruises.
The Raiders offense and Carr looked awful on a frigid field last Thursday. Seattle was reduced to rubble in the cold yesterday and our Cowboys offense looked suddenly anemic.
Late in the season if you are facing a team that needs the game more than you do...if they are at home...if it's cold...you have a triumvirate of trying circumstances.
The Packers have to win out...The Giants and Chiefs needed the W more than the Raiders and Cowboys. Hungrier teams were 3-0.
What we saw with our team might be reduced the CHH formula...Cold, Home, Hungry. Perhaps the alarmists here are over-reacting. Perhaps Dak will be fine.
On the flip-side...I will mention briefly what Romo last did in the playoffs...in the cold...on the road.
22 degrees...Lambeau field in '14 when the Pack defense was darn good:
15-19, 191 yards 2 TDs, 0 Int QB rating 145.
And if the zebras don't mangle the call on Dez's catch...the actual numbers:
16-19, 222 yards, 2 TDs, 0 Int, QB rating 156.
I'm not sure a road quarterback in the cold has played as clutch and as well as that in the history of the NFL playoffs.
