Coldplay to perform the Super Bowl halftime show

I love Coldplay, or at least some of their music, I guess. It's really love or hate. They put out two brilliant albums -A Rush Of Blood To The Head and Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends, which are two of my favorite albums ever. I didn't enjoy their 2011 album Mylo Xyloto, I did like their 2014 album Ghost Stories, but I have more mixed emotions on that one. Now they have a new album out, A Head Full Of Dreams, but I haven't had the opportunity to listen to it yet.

That being said, I do think Coldplay is a really good live band, and they will do well at the SB halftime show. I have seen them live and they were one of my favorite concerts.

I assume they'll stick to some more lively songs like this one (song starts at 3:50)



If they just stand up their and jam like that, they'll be the best SB halftime show since... well, Bruno Mars.

I'm no Coldplay fan but someone would have to pay me ALOT of money to sit thru anything by those creepy Slipknot guys.

If Katy Perry was so popular they should have just brought her back.

For the life of me I can't see a group of people responsible for choosing the halftime show of a Super Bowl all agreeing on a band like Coldplay. I can't see how a band like that even made the final 10 let alone came out on top. Was Wierd Al Yankovic already booked for that night or something?
