No, it correct, neither player mentioned had 88 catches

Yeah thks, I saw that later. Kind of odd to pick "88" as if that is some hollowed number of catches. Either way Beasley has been great for us.

No what's going to happen is Dez's production is going to go through the roof down the field against single converage and 8 in the box.

It's like the Pats with Welker and Moss.

I don't think so. Dez can't outrun anyone, and Dak doesn't like throwing into tight coverage. Romo will, but not Dak.

I love seeing how he is used this season along with Lucky. We're just giving opponents more to think about.

Beasley's contract is one of the best value deals in the league.

Can't believe we signed him to a 4 year, 13.6 mil deal last year.

Two other slot WR's, Randall Cobb and Doug Baldwin are making 10+ mil a year....
He was one I got wrong.....I wanted to keep him as a RFA but didn't like the extension...he has proved his worth which was rare on this team......to me only Romo, WItten and previously Ware had lived up to their extensions in the last decade

So many guys like Free, Carr, Austin, Barber, RWill11, RWill31, Ratliff, Spencer didn't live up to their deals

Now guys like TSmith, Lee and Beasley can be added...we will see with Dez, TCrawford and OScan

Beasley's gotten better every year. 52 catches last year for 536 yds and 5 TD's in 16 games and he'll easily surpass that this season.

His current numbers 6 games into the 2016 season: 33 catches, 390 yds, 3 TD's.

Yeah. It's called "multiple endpoints," and is a way of arranging numbers so that you can make your guy look good. You can say that Beasley is doing something only 3 other guys have done without having to say that all of them actually had better seasons, and there were other guys who were as good or better but didn't meet one of those arbitrary thresholds.

Another version of this is to argue that someone should be in the MLB Hall of Fame because he hit more homers than Rickey Henderson and stole more bases than Yogi Berra, and they're both HOFers, so...

(By the way, Beasley's having a fantastic year and I don't want to minimize that. I just really hate this kind of fake analysis.)

There was also a guy named Drew Pearson, that was an UFA back in 1973 out of Tulsa.
I believe he was a multiple pro bowler, all-pro player and even a SB champion back in his day.
He got two 1,000 yard seasons for the Dallas Cowboys and averaged 16 yards a catch for his career.

1974 - 14gms 62rec 1,087yds 17.5avg 2TD
1979 - 15gms 55rec 1,026yds 18.7avg 8TD

He was so good back then in fact, he made the NFL 1970s All-Decade Team and was inducted into the Dallas Cowboys ROH.

Anyway, just thought I would mention him.

This is one of those terrible multiple-endpoints stats where he only listed guys who had at least 88 catches, at least 1040 yards and at least 8 TDs.

Cruz has a season of 82-1536-9. Austin did 81-1320-11. Those are clearly better seasons than the Beasley projection, but they aren't listed because they didn't have 88 catches.

These numbers that get cobbled together from multiple stats and don't use round number cutoffs are virtually always garbage, designed specifically so that the player in question will be the only one to clear the bar, or to put him in the company of an impressive group of players.
Stats are all about how you look at them

Pretty sure there a few more UDFA then what was listed in the Tweet.
I can think a few right away.

Doesn't take away from what he's doing so far though.

Beasley is Dak's Dez.

Dez is going to be begging for Romo because Dak would rather go elsewhere with the ball.

I don't think it's so much that Dak would rather go elsewhere, it's just that he refuses to force the ball to Dez. Can we blame him? Get open and he'll get the ball.....

I'm a huge Beasley homer obviously. I know he's not a big play receiver like Dez but he's an automatic first down. Last year he fumbled a couple of times and one of them was that Giant game at the worst time as a punt returner. He's not a punt returner. He doesn't look good doing that. Leave that to Lucky. I know fans were down on him a little bit for the fumbling. But I love the way he and Dak are playing together. Beasley is showing he's hard to cover and he's the perfect receiver to use in the red zone. Let's keep it rolling
