Didn't think Daniels would be able to get this done.
Didn't think Hamels would want to pitch is this furnace, for a team in transition.

But, this changes things. Yes, Jon gave up some promising prospects, especially young catcher Alfaro.
But they get a solid LH SP for 3 years with an option, help for the pen with Dickman (great name), and cash.
It shows they're a serious contender, and may help future recruiting, considering the strength of their SP's, providing Darvish returns to form.

I'm pleasantly surprised.

Yeah it was an interesting pickup.

He's a good pitcher bordering on very good from time to time, but other than '14 he hasn't been dominant (outside the no hitter of course!). I expect him to perform to slightly above his career ERA average in the AL, which would be about where he is right now 3.64 ERA. That's good, but it's not terrific.

I don't think he's enough to get them into the playoffs this season and I question if he'll be enough in coming seasons.

The Astro's are loaded with upcoming talent and I hesitate to ever count the Angels out.

He is loser to done. The smart move, for him, was go to yankees. Though I didn't want him.

I am still laughin my butt off from when he was one the four aces that Philly got and then never even went to playoffs.

The guy is a decent pitcher, he just ain't a #1, he's a number #2. His high in wins is 17 and the Phillies had some darned good teams when he was younger. Nor is he worth IMO, the $20+ mil per season.

I agree that he;s best suited as a # 2 - however regarding the wins - the phils offense has been awful the past 2 years.

I like Hamels but glad they traded him for some prospects - the team needs a lot of help and some more youth.

Someone just gave me 2 tickets to the phils vs braves game tomorow night - but im not even sure i wnat to go given how bad the team has been and the heat wave were in right now. I actually have not watched a single game this year on TV because i was so disapointed in the product they were putting out there.

The Phils are two years behind in their rebuilding project.

Cole's wife is the Heidi from Survivor, Amazon - 2003, she later posed in Playboy with that year's winner, Jenna.
She now spends her time as the mom of 2 boys and a young Ethiopian girl that they adopted after spending time in South Africa; she also runs their foundation.

I know nothing about bb but have to add my totally superficial opinion.

On the plus side for the female Rangers fans he's very cute!

On the plus side for the male Rangers fans I see his wife was in PLAYBOY.

So guys find her box and enjoy right?
