I have now heard him say something along this line twice. Of the last 24-26 players the Cowboys have drafted, around half are no longer in the nfl. This making us one of the worst teams at drafting. If this is true I hope someone shows that statistic to Jerry Jones before this years draft.

2009 plays into this due to we had alot of picks in that draft but we didn't start until the 3rd round.

This is just another BS stat Cowherd uses to be like most national media to get ratings. If you hate on a very popular team you have more listeners.

you show me many teams that still have 4th-7th round picks still on the team from 2009 and beyond.

Also Cowherds stupid stat doesn't account for the UDFA hits like Miles and Romo

2009
3rd round
Jason Williams LB
Robert Brewster

4th round
Stephen McGee QB
Victor Butler DE
Brandon Williams DE

5th round
DeAngelo Smith DB
Michael Hamlin DB
David Buehler K

6th round
Stephen Hodge DB
John Phillips TE

7th round
Mike Mickens DB
Manuel Johnson WR

Well he actually states that he's a Cowboys fan but as long as Jerry is the Owner/GM he thinks we will be unsuccessful, stating that it's too hard to do both.

well he is wrong. Jerry has won more or just as many superbowls being a GM than any other GM since 1992.

It's just a format thing. The format from the copy is not the same as this forum, so when it cannot interpret the space, there is none.

He's not talking about "no longer on the team", he said no longer in the NFL. Bit of a difference.

you just have to take the 2009 draft into it. You take that out and include the 2008 draft then its about average.

Cowherd is just a shot jock that like many just says what ever he can to rip the most famous teams.

ok look at how many 4th-7th round picks Dallas had in 2009, show me how many teams ht on 5th,6th, and 7th rounders, and that are still in the NFL.

The 2009 draft is what makes this stat.

well some of those 2009 players are still on the team and in the league so they don't. and if they all did it would only add up to half. it was an interesting stat and i don't think it was meant to bash the cowboys. like i said, he likes the cowboys.

He took this into account and I believe he said the Steelers still have all of their players on their team except for a loss of 6, give or take a few.

ok but do those 5th,6th, and 7th round players start. the steelers have older players all over the place. The players they draft is just backups that hardly play.

Stellers is one of the best developing teams in the NFL. But they have won how many superbowls since 1992 and how many has Jerry won.

I think his point was to simply question the drafting methods of the Cowboys. It was to make a distinction that the Cowboys tend to draft players who lack enough character to contribute anything to a team, therefore they get cut, and they are so bad that no other teams want them. Most teams keep their draft picks and use them for years, even if they don't start. Or they cut them and they get picked up by another team. I think there is something to be said about that. I don't have all of the facts though.

I think it's admirable how you are defending the Cowboys and their draft process but if those statistics are accurate it is definitely something that needs examining.

They've won 2 since 1992. They've also appeared in another one and won 17 playoff games. Dallas has won 3 and won 12 playoff games.

But, let's look at a more telling stat, how many Super Bowls and playoff games have they won once Jerry reclaimed personnel control after Jimmy left?

Pittsburgh has won 2, appeared in another and won 17 playoff games.

Dallas has won 1 and won 6 playoff games including 1 since 1997.

Pittsburgh is a team that consistently competes. Dallas does not.

I cannot understand the lengths people will go to defend Jerry around here.

I just heard the guy a couple of months ago praising our last 2 drafts.
