I cannot WAIT for this latest proclamation to play itself out. As usual, Colin Cowherd is trying to invent melodrama. Michael Irvin's supposed '100% source' is the strongest twig Cowherd can hang his argument's hat on. Everything else is weak sauce.

Saying what other teams did with their 'irreplaceable quarterbacks' does not mean squat when Dallas has a three decades+ idiot for a general manager. Adding a rock star head coach and a rock star college quarterback is conditional:
  1. Jerry Jones must sign Deion Sanders as his new head coach either: a) Colorado's season is officially over; b) Mike McCarthy's contract runs out (if he survives the season); and/or c: ) immediately after the Cowboys season ends.
  2. Having even the number one overall selection does not guarantee the idiot will select Shedeur Sanders. In my highest opinion, Sanders would have Jones make that guarantee in writing as his single demand for accepting the head coaching position. Jones will spend a gazillion dollars on single players. Having a non-player hold power over his decision-making? Someone he would be forced to answer to? Yeah. I will believe it when I see it.
  3. Jones and/or his DNA Kid #1 attending Colorado games would greatly enforce Cowherd's argument. Michael Irvin is a Hall of Famer. Irvin is good (if not great) friends with Jones. Irvin is not related by blood. Irvin's opinion is simply that UNLESS Jones has assured him, beyond a shadow-of-a-doubt, he was kicking Dak Prescott to the curb at some point after handing in the card for Shedeur.
Right. I will not be holding my breath per Cowherd's latest know-it-all-for-clicks-and-views forecast.

LOL. Cowturd isn't a journalist, he's a talking head and most likely has no insight greater than reading some stuff on the internet. When you can't report news, you try to make up news.

Not saying I agree with him....BUT

This is something Jerry Jones would do in a heartbeat.
By the end of this year, the stadium is going to look UGLY with empty seats and other fans filling up the others.
Your seeing TV numbers now where Dallas is not at the top like normal, and that is something Jerry doesn't like.

Probably will all depend on where they end up in the draft at the end of the year. If they think he's going to be there when they draft, I'd say there is over 50% chance that is the play.
With that said, if it's not the #1 pick - the teams above them will likely fleece Jerry for future picks and we'll end up in a worse spot than before.

Now, Cowturd changes direction about every week - so next week it'll be something different, but I would not completely rule this scenario out, especially if they have the #1 pick.

It is 100% something Jerry Jones would not do in a heartbeat. Of course, it is a decision that remains a possibility.

Jerry Jones has had multiple opportunities of hiring rock star head coaches and drafting rock star quarterbacks. His track record for doing either is bleak.

IF he does pull the trigger on one or both this go-round, it will be an atypical Jones decision and something he does not normally do. He has been in similar situations at 62-years-old and 72-years-old. Didn't do squat. An 82-year-old can be legitimately assigned the old saying 'old dogs do not learn new tricks'.

If the Cowboys get an opportunity to draft Sanders they would consider it. The issue is that the kid is a good not great prospect. The Cowboys would be stupid to trade Micah and picks for a chance to get the kid though.

Agree somewhat that he typically hasn't done. However, disagree that he hasn't done it before. Time is running short for Mr. Jones and he knows it.
The "brand" is taking a huge hit right now. Sure, they have had winning seasons, but it has come with getting completely outclassed in the playoffs....so really this is many years of failure snowballing to a complete disaster of a season.

Jimmy was a hot shot coach who Jerry was friends with and he brought him on to replace a legend. It was a very unpopular move but it seemed to work out ok.
Parcells was a huge name who Jerry hired to replace another disaster of failure with Gailey/Campo years.

There happen to be 3 failures between Jimmy and Parcells - this would 3 failures between Parcells and whoever the next coach is.

Deion and his son would give the brand a shot in the arm. The hype around them would be insane and the circus would be in full force.
While this move might not bring another championship before Jerry passes on - it would move the needle again for the Cowboys and the franchise that is left for his kids.

Now, the elephant in the room is Dak and his new deal - if all this were to take place. That might be the thing that keeps it all from happening - who knows.

Once again, not saying this is a done deal - but could easily see Jerry making this move. Deion or not - the next coach will not be a normal Jerry hire.

Funny how nobody ever mentions the cap ramifications if we don't play Dak due to this new duo being in town!@

Cowherd must be completely brain dead if he honestly believes the Cowboys would hire Deion Sanders as their next head coach then draft his son with the number one overall pick.

Jimmy Johnson's hiring is technically true. Jerry Jones hired someone he had a long-time relationship with (since the University of Arkansas), who regularly competed for or won a national championship at the highest college level. Deion Sanders relationship is not as personal and extensive with Jones. Sanders has the rockstar head coach label but that is all he has.

Bill Parcells was partially hired to promote and secure the building of a new stadium in Arlington. Additionally, Parcells had a head coaching resume listing multiple Super Bowl championships. At best, Sanders owns the pre-hiring asset of definitely selling brand promotion.

There are similarities. However, are the similarities strong enough to penetrate Jones' narcissism? That is the question to be answered. My opinion is no but I have definitely been wrong before.

Only problem is the coach isn't a rockstar and the QB has huge bust potential.

But other than that Colin..............
