I cannot WAIT for this latest proclamation to play itself out. As usual, Colin Cowherd is trying to invent melodrama. Michael Irvin's supposed '100% source' is the strongest twig Cowherd can hang his argument's hat on. Everything else is weak sauce.

Saying what other teams did with their 'irreplaceable quarterbacks' does not mean squat when Dallas has a three decades+ idiot for a general manager. Adding a rock star head coach and a rock star college quarterback is conditional:
  1. Jerry Jones must sign Deion Sanders as his new head coach either: a) Colorado's season is officially over; b) Mike McCarthy's contract runs out (if he survives the season); and/or c: ) immediately after the Cowboys season ends.
  2. Having even the number one overall selection does not guarantee the idiot will select Shedeur Sanders. In my highest opinion, Sanders would have Jones make that guarantee in writing as his single demand for accepting the head coaching position. Jones will spend a gazillion dollars on single players. Having a non-player hold power over his decision-making? Someone he would be forced to answer to? Yeah. I will believe it when I see it.
  3. Jones and/or his DNA Kid #1 attending Colorado games would greatly enforce Cowherd's argument. Michael Irvin is a Hall of Famer. Irvin is good (if not great) friends with Jones. Irvin is not related by blood. Irvin's opinion is simply that UNLESS Jones has assured him, beyond a shadow-of-a-doubt, he was kicking Dak Prescott to the curb at some point after handing in the card for Shedeur.
Right. I will not be holding my breath per Cowherd's latest know-it-all-for-clicks-and-views forecast.
If you saw the interview where Michael Irvin made that statement, you can tell by the way he says it that it comes from Dieon himself. There is no other credible source that makes sense in the context he said it. It makes sense that Dieon and Michael would talk.

Obviously, Jerry would have to draft Shedeur. This would all have to be worked out on the front end. Dieon isn't coming into this mess unless he has the power to hit the reset button. Why would he?

Cowherd is doing the same thing we do on this board. We critique and give our opinions about what needs to happen and how to fix the team. He doesn't know anything more about what's going on inside the cowboy bubble than we do. He just has a larger platform. He influences nothing and has no inside information. He makes a strong case. Obviously, that doesn't mean Jerry is going to do the smart thing. He rarely does.

Presuming the 'Boys get a really early pick in the 1st round I would prefer they trade it for more picks. And trade Parsons for as much as the market will bear.
But there's no sizzle to that so don't worry too much that Jerry would do it.

I hate Colon with a passion. He only says things for a reaction and ratings. He contributes little to reasonable discourse.

Is Shedeur good? I don't watch college.
His numbers are good: 73.4 completion percentage, 3,488 yards, 30 TDs, 7 ints. and 4 rushing TDs in 11 games this year.

For his career, he's had 58 passing TDs to 11 interceptions and 8 rush TDs. His completion percentage is 71.2.
