For any who follow College Basketball Recruiting, the #1 recruit in the country for the 2014 class is 6-10 280 lbs C Jahlil Okafor. The #3 recruit is 6-1 171 lbs PG Tyus Jones. The #5 ranked recruit is 6-8 240 lbs. PF Cliff Alexander. The #10 ranked recruit in the 2014 class is 6-5 200 lbs. SF Justin Winslow. Apparently they are all trying to sign with one team.

I don't know who has the right situation to accommodate this and I would be very worried about doing this because you figure that several of these players will be 1 or 2 years and done but this could be the best class ever if they actually do all sign together.

I dont follow it anywhere close to the way I do with football. I will say that I was disappointed that Kentucky got those 3 great players from the state of Texas. It upsets me cause I feel that they could have done wonders for a program like Texas, Baylor, A&M or TT. There was also another very good player, a big, who went out of state.

If those 4 would have decided to sign with the same school, it would have been awesome for the state of Texas. Unfortunately, it seems like all our blue chip talent leaves the state.

If Jahlil is related to Alex, maybe, just maybe, he will be willing to strongly consider the Horns.

If it's the 2014 Class you are referring to, the other player might be Justin Jackson, 6-8 Small Forward from Houston, currently the 15th ranked player in the country. He has given a verbal to the Heels.

But yeah, I know what you mean. Randle, the #2 rated prospect from Plano and the Harrison Twins from Fort Bend #5 and 7 respectively all signed with Kentucky and that is a huge loss to all of the Texas programs. All of these kids are going to Kentucky because they have had recent success but also, because Calipari does embrace 1 and done and he has also been known to color outside the lines, so to speak. If those guys would have chosen to go to a Texas school, that school would most certainly be in the running for a National Championship in the next few years but instead.

I'm torn as to whether I like this or not. What we will see if lots of kids do this is more teams that are great one year and awful the next.

It would be awesome, however, if the NBA made a 3 year college rule. That way, rivalries could develop and dynasties could be made. Would be much better for the college game.

Cal's recruiting is off the charts right now. The Cats are mentioned with all of the players in the OP. I doubt all of those guys end up at the same place.

The bigger news would be if Andrew Wiggins signs with the Cats next week (decent chance). That class would spank the Fab 5 (on paper).

He might sign with Kentucky but if he does, I see Kentucky losing a few of their commits. There just isn't enough playing time if Wiggins goes to KU so I think either way, somebody lands elsewhere.

It's not inconceivable to think that KY could go from NCAA Champions to embarrasing first round NIT loss to Robert Morris to NCAA Champions.

Andrew Wiggins is said to be announcing his decision tomorrow. Going to be interesting to see who he picks.

Andrew Wiggins is going to Kansas. Good choice on his part. Lots of talent at Kansas and they could win a National Championship in 2014.

Theo Pinson, a 5 Star 6-6 SF from High Point NC committed to UNC today. Excellent player for Carolina, can score, get to the rim, defend, has excellent ability and IQ but more importantly, he plays for Wesleyan CA and also for the AAU CP3 All Stars. Why is this significant? It's significant because of Harry Giles. Giles is a Freshman this year but is considered the best player in the class of 2016. He's considered by many, the best PF prospect to come out of North Carolina since James Worthy. He's big time and Pinson is very close to Giles. There is a very strong possibility that Giles will follow Pinson to UNC.
