The North Carolina Tarheels are going to be an undefeated National Champion in college basketball. I can't believe that team returns its top 6 players from last year. If they lose I will be shocked.

I know a lot of people don't like Hansbrough, but you have to admire a guy who goes that hard, gets hit like he does, and never loses his cool. Lawson is the key to their team though.

UNC grad and, of course, huge fan here.....can't see them running table though. Also, the tourney is a grap shoot, but I like their odds better than anyone else....but still under 50-50 with how college hoops goes these days.

Defending champs KU look to have a down year. Lost all starters so in rebuiding mode. At least there is some nice "NCAA National Champions" gear around town to look at.

BTW did you get that runner-up gear yet Yeag?

North Carolina will be monsters this year. Actually beyond that. I just saw Rivals ranking of recruiting class for '09 and they are #1 with 5 of the top 70 players avalable.

Fox Sports already has a bracket filled out and they have Mich St. defeating NC next April. We'll see about that.

I'm a huge Carolina fan myself but undefeated, even for this team, is going to be tough. ACC is real deep this year. Duke, Miami and Wake are all going to be pretty good.

I love Hansbrough what's not to like about that guy? He goes hard day in and day out and consistently gets a double double. I would love for the bulls to draft him. I can't see them going undefeated however national champs isn't a stretch they should have won last year but o well. ACC isn't a pushover conference. I think it's one of the best conferences in college ball.

Carolina lost there McDonalds All-American Freshman, and Indian Mr. Basketball 7 foot Center Tyler Zeller in the game against Kentucky this past Tuesday. Zeller, of a hard foul from Kentucky, landed hard and broke his wrist. Unfortunate as UNC is still without Tyler Hansbrough.

Should be enough to beat the Gauchos tonight but who knows if enough to win in Maui next week.

No chance against Texas without them IMO.

BTW, Heels have the top rated recruiting class in 09. Texas would be next according to most, right now.

After watching UNC tonight and them absolutely dominate the #12 team in the nation I think they will go undefeated HoS.

Hansbrough passed Phil Ford as the all time leading scorer in Tarheel History. He is 467 points behind JJ Redick as the all time leading scorer in ACC History.

That means if UNC just plays their remaining 20 games he needs to average 23.35 points to pass that mark. If they do what I predicted they would, go undefeated as the National Champion, that would add 3 games from the ACC tournament and 6 games from the ACC tournament and he would only need to average 16.1 points per game.

I saw earlier tonight where he also can break the all time ACC Rebounds record of 1125 by Ralph Sampson. He is 137 away from that record. If they just play the 20 remaining games he needs to average 6.85 rebounds per game to break the record. Again using my prediction and adding 9 games he would need to average 4.72 rebounds per game.

The totals he needs to average to break both records are below his career (20.18 pts & 8.67 rebounds) and season averages (22.33 points & 7.5 rebounds) for both marks.

Tarheels have not lost. 10-0. He did not play in 4 of their 10 games.

It doesn't translate to the NBA and I don't care. Kid is one heck of an amazing college player.
