So...now that we are done with the year's draft, who do you think we need to watch for next year?

This is certainly not an all inclusive list but here are a few of the Brightest Stars heading into the 2005 Season:

Texas' Vince Young

Oklahoma's Adrian Peterson

USC's Matt Leinart

USC's Reggie Bush

Ohio State's Ted Ginn

Florida's Chris Leak

That one was just for you Gatorgirl.

;)

Thanks, Roughneck...and yes, Leak will probably leave early. Too much talent competing for the starting spot. Josh Portis and Cornelius Ingram looked pretty darned good in the spring game.

Mattiah Kiwanuka, DE, Boston College. Would have been the best pure pass rusher this year if he had entered.

Marcus Vick

Is little Vick going to stay out of trouble? :D

What is the news out of VT? Is Vick slated to be a full time QB or will he still play some receiver? He is exciting to watch. Was Randal drafted by anyone?

Bryan Randall was not drafted.

Vick (the younger) will be playing strictly QB and, after a dominant performance this Spring, he was named the Starter by the VT Coaching Staff.

Randall signed a free agent contract with the Falcons though. I guess he might have a chance of unseating Ty Detmer as the 3rd QB there. THat would easily save them cap space and he could be developed a little bit. I hope he can succeed in the NFL, there isn't guy with better character and classiness to come through VT.

Good to hear. I figured some team might use a late round pick on him. Good athlete.

VERNON DAVIS

next great player from Terpland
TE from the U OF Md-

I just did a write up on him -it was moved to the college forum where no one will see it - so here is a little bit from it

he is 6'3' and 250 lbs of all muscle- he is fleet of foot and fast
had 58 catches last year- including 100 yard games against
Virginia, FSU and Duke
runs a 4.5

highest bench press on the team at 465 lbs

HE WILL BE A TOP 10 PICK in next years draft- GUARANTEE IT

Even though I can't stand the canes, I will add Devin Hester:

Although I believe that he, Peterson, and Ginn aren't draft-eligible next year.

I also think that Bush stands a good chance of eclipsing Leinart this year at USC.

I think Leinart will slide a bit this year without Chow, and that Reggie Bush will be an all-around stud again.

Up there with Ted Ginn Jr from OSU is my choice as the best OLB for next year

I agree with this one 100%.

The most captivating, cant keep your eyes off of him college player is RB Adrian Peterson of Oklahoma. When he comes out I really hope no one in our division lands him. He isn't a 2006 prospect though.

Kiwanuka is the 2006 prospect I will be watching like a hawk.

Deangelo Hall from Memphis. The dude reminds me of a certain Cowboy who wore # 33 who used to leave opposing defenders in his dust. He would have come out early had he not sustained an injury in a bowl game. He has more speed than any rb to come out in many moons.

I'm predicting he'll be a top 3 pick next year.

Michael Huff, FS/CB, Texas (6-1, 205, 4.35-4.40s)

He won't be a "sleeper" nationally next year.....

DeAngelo Williams not Hall and I agree *see my sig :D*

Actually the injury had nothing to do with it. His mother has a very good job so he didn't have a need to leave early. He's a great kid and I hope we get a qb to step up or he won't have much of a season.

Oops. Yeah, I need an editor for a majority of my posts. But D WILLIAMS is a baaadddd dude in the whole 4 games I've seen him play.

I have sigs and such turned off but I'm tempted to change that just to see what you're talking about.
