Well we using Amica Car Insurance and I just added my new car and it is $2,000 just for me because I am a new driver and a college student. This seems way too much.

I would like to ask you guys whether you have a son who has car insurance at a young age or if you know any good and cheap car insurance companies that you recommend for me.

I know younger drivers are more of a risk but that seems like a lot to pay for one year. Thanks guys

Do you really need a car in college? If you live on campus, what's the need?

I survived on liability coverage until I got a full-time job...or at least a job that could pay for a vehicle that required comprehensive coverage.

I didn't have my first accident until I was in my 30s, so drive carefully until you can afford other people's damage.

I'm commuting from home to a community college 20 miles away or so everyday.

Liability is the way to go if you are a safe driver. I did that until I can pay the insurance with no sweat. I also used AAA because they gave me insurance for the entire year.
