Did anyone hear what CC said.
That Kiffin went into Garrett's office, and said, Marinelli supported him through all the years they coached together. So he thought it was time for Marinelli to be the DC.

I always knew there was more to that than what really happened. And the usuals blaming the move on Jerry the GM. Saying JG has no say so....
Well, give Jerry the GM credit for approving it.

I believe it because its one of the most reasonable explanations for what happened. I think Kiffin was feeling the heat that he may be let go and that would then put Marinelli in a tough spot to look like the bad guy if he stayed as the DC. I think Kiffin wanted one more year with the team to try and not go out on such a bad defensive showing and so he volunteered to take a different title and help Marinelli run the D. He gets his one more year of NFL paychecks and the chance to go out on an improved note.

Good post, as many things go on that we are not aware of, nor should we care about to an extent.
Why we don't hear things like this when it happens, well if we did, people are saying the FO are liars anyway. So it comes out later in the year. Good stuff IMO.

Why would Kiffen say he got demoted? Chris also said that Dallas made a dedicated effort to draft OL, when that's not true. They had Floyd rated higher and Jerry over-ruled the scouts and Zach Miller was the fourth player on their boards, the other 3 being defense and they went that way because all their picks were drafted by then.

Reports were coming out that Kiffen was going to get fired and Marinelli was very loyal to Kiffen. They retained Kiffen as a consultant most likely because of Marinelli.

It wasn't said to told them this, this could have came from anyone involved. And since he did get demoted, if that's what one wants to call it. Then just say it, why would he say anything else otherwise. Tell it like it is, no harm in it.

I had fired employees, with proof on video they were stealing. But 3 years later they still deny it. Saying they were just there, but didn't steal. video proof, but yet in denial.
If Kiffin said this, at least he's truthful. That's good enough for me.

That is the normal reaction, so easy to believe. So people go with it.
Fact is, I don't care, it was the right move no matter what.
I was just posting what CC said.
