Beat me to it. So many people follow what the media pumps (FOR RATINGS!!) and when you don't follow the game very closely, you start to repeat ratings nonsense to sound smart.

Well you don't sound smart unless some casual fan who knows less than most thinks you do. It comes across as pretty ignorant to people who understNd the game.

I've seen Peyton Manning play his worst football in some huge games. Like playoff games. doesn't mean he's not good or great.

I understand what you mean but there has been teams that won with a mediocre qb. Trent dilfer,Eli manning, brad Johnson etc.

Was watching ESPN's First Take and Hugh Douglas and that NBA analyst (forgot his name) were debating Skip on Tony regarding whether or not teammates have given up on Romo. The discussion became borderline heated. I couldn't help but shake my head out how much the media loves to discuss Romo.

Douglas threw out 3 examples beginning with the Seattle fumble and so on. His argument was lame to say the least. Heck, even Dana who was throwing out the debate topics sided with Hugh and the other guy over Skip.

Gotta give Bayless some credit for sticking to his guns.

It's borderline WWE type stuff on most of these topics/type shows. They need both sides of a topic debated. Drama = ratings. So they give both sides the topic and then in production meetings they discuss both sides. Quite often you get one side arguing a point they know nothing about nor could they really cate less.

Not saying this was the case here but it happens a lot.

Yeah, but he didn't come prepared. Douglas had these three examples ready to go. Bayless could have owned him by citing five times as many instances in which Romo was the main reason we won the game. But he didn't. He just kept trying to shoot down one of Douglas's examples by saying that "Team Obliterator" was on the team. Weak sauce.
