Colombo question?

I thought a promise was made to Colombo by Jerry that if he had another good season the 2 year deal would be ripped up and a new deal made?

Anyone remember this being quoted?

that was the speculation -- I expect that we wait until we get past TC and part of the preseason before doing this as a hedge against injury. Absolutely needs to get done before the season as if he's got two very good years behind him now - he'd be a hot commodity on the market given his age (30 at the end of the year).

This would be the guy I could see BP/Sparano really going after.

I don't specifically remember the new deal part but I know that we need to get him locked up for longer than he currently is.

That was the rumor going around last year, that if he took less money and stayed and played injury free that Jerry would give him a new contract.

I think he has earned it, he has turned out to be one of the better RT in the NFL and he is only 30 I think.

I would think 5 yrs, $25 mill with $10 mill guarenteed.
