I was wondering exactly what our tackle depth would look like assuming we don't release Rogers again when the season is over and he is off our injury reserve?

I'd actually prefer to keep him. Because if Colombo works out, we wouldn't have to draft another tackle. We'd be pretty deep and skilled at tackle.

We could concentrate on guard, and other positions of weakness.

LT
Adams
Rogers
(colombo/petitti)

RT
Tucker
Pettiti
Colombo

I would like to see us draft or sign a FA center......needless to say, maybe it's just that I am old and cranky, but I have not been overwhelmed with enthusiasm with the play of A. Johnson or A. Gurode.

Hey...don't be so hard on yourself...you're not cranky. :D

I agree. I'd love to see us SERIOUSLY upgrade the entire O Line next year.

As I understand it, Rogers cleared waivers and no one picked him up so he remained on our injury reserve.

Cbz40. It's pretty obvious that Kevin Mawae is going to be released, I think its a sure bet that Parcells goes after him. It's a lock.

I'd like to see the oline look something like this next year:

Adams - Allen - Mawae - Rivera - Colombo
Rogers/Tucker - Peterman - Johnson - Gurode - Petitti

Kevin Mawae .....Now you're talking... :)

If Colombo works out that would be a big step in the right direction. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

At first I believed we would have to draft a receiver. But I definitely think there will be a YOUNG free agent stud receiver in free agency next year. So I don't think you HAVE to go out in the draft and get one in the first round.

Free agents I'd like to pick up next year:

C - Mawae
WR - STUD =)
FS - Coverage Safety
K - Vanderjagt

I definitely think we can afford it all.

Gosh, I can't stand that guy.

Ya know, a hundred years ago, a guy named Muhammad Ali started all the trash talking, boasting etc.

But he did it with a smile on his face and a wink in his eye...AND he always backed it up.

Amazing (and sad) to see how sports figures have messed that up.

The difference between cundiff IIRC is that we actually settled with Cundiff, and I don't think we settled with Rogers.

Cbz, there is no way in my mind that we don't get Kevin Mawae. I don't think his stock will be way high coming off an injury, and I think he'll want to play for parcells again.

Exactly as parcells said. At some point someone thought highly enough to draft him in the first round. And as far as I know his problems have been mostly because of his knee injury.

Leonargized, Mawae would be a stop gap until Al Johnson bulks up or Andre Gurode's skill level and foot work improves.

You are on the nosey about a PK.

How old is Mawae? He's a top three center and Parcells loves the guy.

This team is getting REAL close.

Mawae is pretty old. I think he is like 35. Turning 36. But sign him to like a 2 or 3 year contract... and I mean let him play until he can't play anymore, and we still could rotate him with Johnson and or Gurode.

Yes indeed this team is real close......it's fun watching it come together....put in a few more pieces to the puzzle and we will be there.
