I've been noticing Colombo's lack of play in every game more so in the bills game and this last one, in the Bills game Colombo failed to finish off his defender instead he just let him whiz by as he batted down tony's pass and drove it in for the touchdown, yesterday he did it again, failed to finish his guy letting the defender again take down romo for that sack he got, WTH, and then he got I believe 2 falst starts, I don't know what his status is as far as FA but If he is a FA after this year, i say the CB release him, he is not worth keeping

don't know who or what the culprit is....but when you consider the money invested in this OL...it is mind numbing that we cannot line up and run the ball with any consistency

Colombo in my opinion is a good O-lineman and I hope he stays with us for a while.

Where are NE getting their OLine from? Jeez, no one can get close to Brady. :toast: here's to hoping the McQuistans of the world can actually be dominant.

Thank you, what is wrong with some people.

I wasn't even going to respond in this thread because it was so ignorant, .. until I read your post.

They take 1 or 2 plays that are less than perfect or even flat out bad and act as if that is the players entire game. Offensive tackles face big and fast rushers and will get beat from time to time but if you look at the overall play Colombo has done very well for us. So other than the same old nit picking I don't see any problem with Colombo

Same with Flo, I will take a penalty or two a game from the guy that can handle the pass rushers that a LT has to deal with on ever play.

Colombo had a bad game. It wasn't that one guy overmatched him, he was beaten by a couple of guys. It was just a bad game and I suspect he will work harder preparing next time. (maybe he was under the weather?)

While I tend to agree with you, I still have been seeing more inconsistent play from Columbo lately. Who knows? Maybe he's dealing with personal issues - we don't know. But if you look at the first offensive series of the Patriot game as well (when we went 3 and out), you will find out that it was Columbo's guy that was the direct result of the Cowboys not being able to do anything for that series. Also as the above poster was saying, in this game his guy did beat him quite a few times. This is not indicative of how I feel about Columbo, it's just that it APPEARS that he is a little more inconsistent as of late.

It's difficult for an Offensive Lineman. He'll have 60 snaps, have 2 bad plays ... and people are calling for his head.

Compared to a Defensive Linemane, who'll have 60 snaps, have 2 good plays, and he's in the Pro Bowl.

i think colombo has played pretty solid this year, just like last year. he is no pro bowler but he is a solid rt. he is signed thru next year and we are'nt about to release him when flo is a f.a.

I just disagree. I was disappointed that he drew 2 flags in the game but I look at his overall play and I don't see him performing bad. Picking a play here or there is a bit different than looking at the overall product and overall I'm very happy with Colombo. It is cool if you disagree.

It's hard for me to complain about Columbo's play considering the revolving door of RT stiffs we've employed through the years.

Talkin Cowboys call-in mentioned Colombo's play. Nate Newton chimed in saying Colombo's a good player but he needs to bend his knees more. It's all about technique and Colombo was standing upright rather then bending his knees when pass rusher opposite him got thru him to tackle Romo. Same goes for 2 penalty calls. Colombo should be able fix this himself or Saprano will.

we don't try to run consistantely. we let romo pass for record numbers and run when we have to.

Columbo may not be the next Anthony Munoz but he is a far cry from Torrid Tucker and Rob Petttittiitttiitti. Even the great Walter Jones gives up sacks and tackles. Columbo is servicable.

In bad weather we are going to need to be able to run the ball. And right now we can't do it untill the D wears down.

Barber had 96 yards and the touchdown. It was the first rushing TD against Minnesota this season. Julius Jones added 28 yards as the Cowboys became the first team to run for more than 100 yards against the Vikings.

And Barber has the two longest runs against the Vikings this season.

Romo went 9-of-10 on the opening drive, marching Dallas 80 yards for a touchdown.

Romo was 28-of-32 for 231 yards at halftime.

At halftime we led 250-76 in yards, 43-18 in plays and 16-5 in first downs.

But lets start a thread that bashes the O-linemen. Let's find how they weren't perfect.

I guess they weren't perfect.

It is called Nit Picking. Dallas is sitting at 6-1 one of the highest scoring teams in the NFL and yet get constantly ripped on by our own fans no less. Yet people complain about ESPN? damn ESPN has nothing over our own fans when slighting the Cowboys. :lmao2:
