Hey Y'all,

New poster from Indy. I've been sulking about this board the last couple of months. The Cowboys are my 2nd favorite team, since the Colts came to Indy. (I was actually raised on Cowboys/Razorback/Longhorn football being from the South originally.)

Anyway, just wondering what you all think of a Colts/Cowboys SB? Reading this mb the last couple of months it looks as if the Patsies are in your heads almost as much as they are in Colts fan's heads. Although, Colts fans have more history attached to their obsession. Dirty Patsies! I loathe them with intensity of 1,000 suns.

Personally, I'd love to see this match-up. (Wouldn't be completely disappointed by a Cowboys win as long as the game was fair and injury free.) However, after reading this mb it seems as if most of you have written the Colts/Cowboys scenerio off. Would you really rather it be a Cowboys/Patsies SB?

Go Colts!

Go Cowboys!

Here's to the Patsies falling to the Steelers/out first round of the playoffs!

the only reason I would prefer the Pats is for revenge. I feel like we could beat them if we met again and I would love to put their only defeat os the season on them in the big one, basically ruining that perfect season. I don't see Indy beating them without Freeney to be honest though.

I'd take anybody in the superbowl, just as long as we get there.

The way NE has played the last two weeks, I wouldn't write off the Colts making it to the Super Bowl. The playoffs are a different animal, and Colts/Patriots has been a good rivalry the last few years. The Colts played them tough earlier this season, but losing Freeney though makes me wonder how much pressure they can put on Brady in a second meeting, but it's not impossible.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Cowboys play anybody as long as it was the Super Bowl. But getting revenge on the so-called Best Team Ever would be sweet.

Won't matter if it be Colts or it be Pats.

The Boys will take out whoever it is from the AFC for a very simple reason.

We'll be taking the path of least reisistance. You see, while the Pats and Colts will be killing each other in the playoffs, we'll be getting fat playing at home against also-rans like Detroit and Tampa...teams that wouldn't win 5 games if they played in the AFC.

So the Boys will be warm and rested. The AFC team? Not so much.

I like Coach Dungy, P. Manning, and M. Harrison because I think they are classy people. However, nothing against the Colts but I would like to see us playing against the patsies, mainly because I despise that arrogant team and I would love nothing more than seeing our team beat them.

Anyways, welcome to the site.

Granted Freeney is a huge loss, we've been lucky to have some other players step-up (Brackett, Brock on injury this week, Mathis) to fill, at least partially, his shoes. Defensively we were not so good against the Jags, we lost Brock to rib injury during the game, and they play us tough every time we meet. Did you see the hit by B Sanders on Greg Jones? Wow! Tough little dude!

If we can get everyone healthy at the same time I think we can beat the Patsies in Foxboro. They're now playing the Colts system of 04/05 and we know how that worked out for Colts in January at Foxboro.

We keep hearing MH will be back soon if not for Ravens, then in time for Oakland or in time for playoffs. Changes everyday. He did practice yesterday. Huge advantage, if it happens.

well they almost beat them the last time, that was in Indy though and with Freeney but Harrison will be a huge asset if he is back and able to take the physical hits - his knee will be a target for CB's. Pats were very close to losing their last two, the only reason they won the last one was the refs but they are still winning...even though it isn't pretty.

While I can understand the need for revenge issue with Boys fans, wouldn't you rather see the Pats lose in the playoffs early to some crap wild card team i.e: Jags/Titians? To me that would just be icing on the cake. I was giggling like a maniac every time I flipped over and the Ravens were ahead. Last three minutes I was screaming at my TV, for Ravens to pull it off.

Got your point about defense gunning for MH knees. Never put it past dirty players to try to render him ineffective. Best revenge moment: Roidney Harrison injuring sholder on face mask MH play last year, pretty sure that put him out for rest of season. Karma. No penalty called, although they showed play over and over obvious face mask no one mentioned it.

The top two fan favorites Colts/Cowboys would be a ratings blow-out for NFL. That said, this is just a pipe dream at this point, as neither team is a shoe-in for the SB. Cowboys are riding high now, in a mostly JV NFC, but strange things happen. Can't write off GB just yet. Healthy Farve, who knows?

I think the Colts returning to the Super Bowl would be good for ratings.

But I think an undefeated Patriots team that half the country hates, playing the Dallas Cowboys (always a ratings king) would be even better.

Also, I think classifying the NFC as 'JV' is shakier this season. Both conferences have two 'lock' teams in the Pats/Colts and Cowboys/Packers. Both have teams that are good but very inconsistent (Steelers/Browns and Giants). The rest is filled with mediocre to very poor teams, about evenly. If you want to argue about talent, I have to disagree. If you want to argue about hardware (Lombardi trophies), then I would agree. In the last 10 years, the AFC has owned the Super Bowl.

either way, the Pats losing is what I want to happen, whether it's playoff's or superbowl doesn't matter. having much more respect for the Colts players and coach I wouldn't mind a Cowboys/Colts SB at all, would like it actually. I do like Brady but there are several players on the Pats team I can't stand.

I stand corrected, saw an article yesterday regarding talent in both divisions. You're correct - talent wise (stats) this is the most evenly matched season for both AFC/NFC in the last several years. Stated NFC may be on the up-swing. Apologies old habits die hard.

I'll not watch any SB that includes the Patsies. Never have, never will. If they were playing the devil and his minions I wouldn't watch. But, that's just me. Prefer to read about who won the next day.

I don't blame you, I wouldn't either if Cowboys weren't playing against them.

I would very much like to avenge Super Bowl V and beat the Colts.

Ultimately though, I really don't care who the opponent is.

Welcome to the board JMFI.

I have long felt as if the Colts were the best team in the AFC. I still believe that but, as others have pointed out, Freeny gone is huge.

I would like another shot at New England only because I think we can play a better game then we did the first go round. but the Colts, IMO, are the better team when everybody is healthy.

Doesn't really matter I guess. To me, I'm just happy to make it out of the NFC and have an opportunity to play for another Championship. That's not a for sure thing for anybody including us.

Good luck to you and the Colts and please enjoy posting here at the Zone.
