Colts | Dungy talks about Vanderjagt return
Sat, 25 Feb 2006 15:21:49 -0800
Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy was asked at the NFL Combine Saturday, Feb. 25, about the possibility of free agent PK Mike Vanderjagt returning to the team. Dungy replied, "We want to improve and get better. It's one thing to say that this guy shouldn't be back. You have to get people that are better. That's what we always are going to try to do. We're not going to get rid of people unless we think we have good alternatives. Mike has been a very, very good kicker for us. I think he still has the ability to be an exceptional kicker. You don't close the door on anything. But our situation is we've got a lot of free agents out there. As much as we can with this bargaining agreement situation the way it is, we'll go down our pecking order and try to get as many guys back as we can. Where that's going to stop, I don't know. Our goal is to have as many people back as we can."
