Per Adam Schefter.

Says they've made multiple offers and that the last offer "remains on the table". A person connected to the Colts (whatever that means) says they've been trying to land Jenkins with an offer that "many teams would think is compelling."

I will take that as if it's a 5th round pick. I wouldn't trade him unless it was a 4th or higher

There's no reason to trade him for a draft pick. We're trying to win now, not building for the future. If we do trade him, we'd better get a starting player in return.

Yep. And a pretty good one.

Agreed.

This team finally has quality depth at a position where they have notoriously struggled.

I see no reason to trade that depth for a 2013 promissory note.

Agreed.

It would take one sweet draft pick for me to think otherwise.

If the colts think that a 5th round pick is something many teams would find compelling they are on crack.

Freeney and Mathis are both 4-3 ends and are way to small. I'm sure you could make them full time OLB's though.

Its nice to dream.

I wouldn't trade Jenkins for a 32 yo Dwight Freeney who would have to learn a new position... And who's already said that 3-4 OLB is a lot different than 4-3 DE.

Not to mention Freeney is due like $14 mil in base salary this year.

I agree, no reason to trade him unless they are willing to give up a starter. He doesn't cost us much and provides excellent depth at CB as well as additional coverage vs 3-4 WR sets.

If they are offering a 1st I'd take it otherwise, forget it.

A bit silly, sure, but besides him or Fleener who else gives us equal value for Jenkins? I'd probably go for a draft pick instead of a player, but only if it's a high one.

Both are old and making too much.
