Colts vs Pats

I think NE's biggest threat is Pittsburgh, because NE's vulnerability is their run defense. I don't think the Indy game will even be close. It will be a shootout, and that's exactly what Belichick wants. Once he gets the Colts' offense one dimensional, they're going to tee off on Peyton.

So many taking the Colts?

Boy does that show that people tend to vote for what they want and not what is the most likely to happen.

I was just wondering the same thing. Maybe we are just over selling the Pats.

Indy in a close game

But we might all be choosing with our hearts instead of our heads.

Well, Indy aren't exactly slouches in that phase of the game. They're 5th in the league in rushing and that's with Addai missing some time.

You're right, it has nothing to do with the fact that:
  • The Colts have won the last three meetings against the Patriots
  • In each game this season, the Colts have been facing the division leaders/co-leaders at the time
  • The Colts opponents combined have a winning record but the Patriots opponents are 25/35.
  • The Colts are the #3 ranked offense and have no problem scoring in the first half.
  • The Colts are #2 ranked defense, allowing 14.6 points per game

But it must be unrealistic to think Indy has a chance when all signs show that it is a possibility. Wait a minute, come to think of it it's probably more homeristic to think they can't win because really it comes down to 'we couldn't beat them, so no one can.'

It will be interesting to watch how many penalties each team has, especially penalties at critical times of the game that kill drives or keep drives alive. They are both averageing between 4 and 5 penalties per game but the Pats have over 300 yards in penalties to the Colts 183.

Ironically after the game Randy Moss found the referee's cell phone in the runway and brought it over to the ref to return it.

The ref asked Moss how he knew it was his? Moss replied, it said 9 missed calls on it!
