Combine thread

Bench press results are in.

The highest total for the DTs is 29 by Jordan Phillips, which is not especially. good. Darius Alexander, Eric Gregory, Ty Robinsons had 28 reps.

Mason Graham had 24 and Kenneth Grant had 22. NFL.com only has 9 DTs with bench press results.

The DEs actually look pretty strong. Ethan Downs had 32 reps. Mike Green, Sean Martin, Barryn Sorrell had 28 reps. 15 DEs are listed with results.

For the LBs, Teddye Buchanan had 26 reps, along with Nick martin. Demetrius Knight had 22, 3 had 21 and 1 20. This also looks like a strong group although only 7 participated it looks like.

Darius Alexander, Barryn Sorrell Teddye Buchanan and Demetrius Knight had strong combines I think. I like Buchanan and Knight a lot in the mid rounds. Sorrell too. And these LBs are also known for instincts and leadership on the field. I still think this is a strong defensive draft. The safeties are going to add to that thought.
Big time post, right here. LB Teddye Buchanan has good tape too, and I'm with you he stood out at the Combine. LB Nick Martin ran his 40 with a beanie on, so I was sold at that moment but he ran fast too. DTs are just stacked, some mid round guys are gonna be good NFL players.

pressures are still important as they force the QB to move off his spot, where others can clean up.
they are important but not as much as some think.
And if you only have one guy who can really do it, in the end it will not count for much

I think you will still be able to get good run stopping dts until about the middle of the fourth depending on how this draft goes.
But if you want a real good one, probably 3rd rd is it. To me the sweet spot of this draft is going to be the 2nd.

He does get a ton of pressures, but struggles to finish. This is something he is going to have to develop on the next level. Had a great showing, where Nolen who was rising by the media might have fallen based on the bad character reports that we are hearing.
I mean…there are a gillion metrics out there that highlight his ability as a pass rusher.

Teams aren’t going to look at the box score number and rank players based off of how many sacks they’ve had. They’re way smarter than that.

that is what is i am saying, many of those should be sacks but he let the QB escape or step up.
Teams aren’t going to rank prospects on how many sacks they’ve have. There sooooooo much more data and metrics out there now.

You think Donovan E. or Antwuan Powell Ryland will get drafted over Stewart? Me either.

you ignore so much and concentrate on what does matter.
Pressures are not as important as sacks. Reality.

No doubt pressures are important, but he needs to improve upon this area to reach that next level.
