Thats a true statement...

Most Skins fans are happier about Cerrato, Zorn, Blache, Hixon getting canned, Snyder hopefully stepping back, Bruce Allen and Shannahan being hired, game-day experience being improved etc. The Cowboys losing to the Vikings was pretty nice, as is Wade being retained...

Don't fool yourself: you know Snyder will never be "stepping back" as much as we know Jerry Jones won't do the same thing. In a few seasons he'll be at odds with Shanahan and actively looking for his replacement while he's still in Snyder's employ.

Snyder is Jones minus the Lombardis.

Fixed :)

We shall see...While I believe Shannahan will be given a Gibbs-length leash (i.e. Will retire/quit before he is fired), I am not making any predictions.

Every fan base has it's idiots. I choose to ignore them. But, to each their own...

...I agree with you here, but I have noticed that some particular mods in ES, ahem..Bubba...ahem are a bit more obnoxious than the usual suspects one runs into. I remember one time he talked openly on ES about threatening some Cowboys fans at Fedex. He seemed to be over the top to me.

Vinny canned, Zorn gone, real GM and HC brought in, and now the in-game is being improved.

...this is the one area I will credit Snyder over Jones in. He is willing to take on a established GM in his organization. Jones did it once with Parcells and although it didn't work I think he abandoned that mode of operation too quickly.

I for one like educated counterpoint and a different point of view to ensure that all bases are being covered.

Bubba is not a mod -- but that is neither here nor there. Threatening people at a game is most definitely over the top -- I don't care who you are. But someone posted in this thread about "Commanders fans shoving Sean Taylor down our [Cowboys fans'] throats." There's class there :)

The same with Snyder and Marty. But here's the kicker: Marty gave Shannahan a good recommendation for Snyder...I am hoping...

Hence why I am here. Like on ES, there are a several fans on here I respect and listen to their opinions. Others, I just ignore.

Ever hear the phrase "Tis better have had and lost..."?

Pretty sure Jones was a factor in that Dynasty being created in the first place.

Snyder is the worst owner in sports. Luckily for Skins fans, they just happen to be in the vicinity of the best owner in sports. Leonsis. Go Caps!

Sonny, you can laugh all you want at the Cowboys loss to the Vikings, but the bottom line is we are light years ahead of you in talent as are the Eagles and Giants, we all have elite QB's, look at that Garbage you're running out there, it will take the Commanders at least 3 seasons to compete for the division title again and by that time Shanny will tire of Snyder and either quit or be fired.

Um, I've been saying it'll take at least three years for the Skins to rebuild. So...I pretty much agree with what you said...save the part about Shanny and Snyder. Gibbs had all the time he wanted. I firmly believe Shanny will too. We shall see, won't we?

I am actually kinda glad the Cowboys won that game over the Iggles in the playoffs...After all, they kept Wade.

This. The majority of my friends are Skins fans (unfortunately I don't keep in good company), and even they can see as much.

The Shanny hire was a good one, but the hole he's in is too deep. It will take more time than he'll be giving to right the franchise. It's going to be a long haul for skins fans.

3 years is optimistic IMO. Possible, but not likely given the age of many of the veterans, and the key positions that need to be replaced. That team is facing a nightmare.

Skins have an aging O line that collapsed this year, an aging RB, a backup that is just above average, no WRs anyone respects. Oh and what about QB? That is just on offense. Your D has some players but more then a couple of holes. Especially in your backfield. Kicker? Sinking fast skins and we enjoy it.

They could have been so much more, if it weren't for Jones' ego...Clearly it was more Johnson than Jones.

Um, sorry, no. That's not accurate. There are far worse owners than Snyder. I am not saying he is the best by any means, but that is just an exaggeration. At least he is making long-awaited changes. We'll see if it lasts...remember how horrible an owner Steinbrenner was? Sometimes people do change. Not making a prediction, just an observation.

Wow, we just aren't going to agree on anything today are we? The Caps are good, but perhaps they would be better if they were backstopped by the Greatest Goalie of All-Time...LETS GO DEVILS! ;)

I think the huge difference there is that Gibbs is a legend with the Skins and Skins fans and he was in a position where he'd almost have to give that guy more rope and such cause of his ties with the franchise.

Shanny will not have that kind of ties and won't have that kind of sentimental value with the fans. I don't think he'll get the benefit of the time Gibbs did. I really believe Snyder will want him to win, and win big, very quickly.

This is the crux of the argument: How much has Snyder really changed? Only time will tell.

Although I think there is a line of succession being formed as well with Kyle Shannahan and Matt Lafleur being brought aboard.

Steinbrenner didn't change. he's still the same ******* he was in the 70s. he just got out of the way in the 90s when they built that dynasty. this past decade was steinbrenner buying up the top free agents trying to win a world series with a big lineup instead of pitching. they finally got pitching this past season and look what happened. anyways it's a bad comparision cause George just spends more money than any other team these days to buy championships. In the NFL you can't do that.

That's what I was referring to...the late-90's Yankees. He allowed Cashman and Torre to do their jobs and look what happened. I am hoping Snyder does the same...

Cashman became the gm for NY in 1998 but I get what you're saying. I'm just waiting for Jerry to go away. he's 67 now so I figure atleast another 10 years before he hands the team over to his son Stephen. Stephen doesn't appear to be a moron and egomaniac like his father. so I hope he'll hire real coaches and maybe even a real gm. after all he knows how not to do it after watching what his father has done for the past 13 years.

How'd that work out for you? Just like 31 teams do every year, you couldn't get it done when it mattered. Don't worry, at least you guys are kings of the regular season. One day romo will stop playing like a bush league crybaby when the games matter.
