I’m surprised most teams don’t do that more often. On 3rd and long, just toss it up and hope for a PI.

Sad part, our guys are more concerned with gaining an extra yard or two before we punt.

Field position is overrated quite often. Unless your defense is just killing it, you try to end abortive drives looking to salvage them, not gain "positive yards" and just feel good about yourselves.

And just to prove the point, here the Giants run a give up play. They got three yards. The punt by Dixon was key for field position, not getting three yards closer to the Commanders' goal.
