The abundance of losses has particularly taken a toll on defensive lineman Barry Cofield, who signed a six-year, $36 million deal with the Commanders in July after playing his first five seasons with the Giants.

Following a 20-9 loss to a 1-7 Dolphins team last Sunday, Cofield didn't sound optimistic about the remainder of the season.

"There's no guarantee that we can win another game," Cofield told The Washington Post. "We just don't have a team on our schedule that's just going to lay down and you know, let us beat them.

Which is 100% true, the colts must be pretty happy right about now not having to play the skins that could ruin their suck for luck season

This is just the kind of material that will lull some players into a sense of complacency. I'm hoping that our coaches are peparing for the Commanders like thay are challenging for the Division lead. I hate to use the term "Trap Game", but folks here act like our guys can win just by showing up.

Then it becomes important for the Cowboys to take away all hope at the start of the game. Longer you let the skins hang around in this game the more confidence they will have in winning the game. Right now they are down and out as a team Cowboys need to make sure it stays that way

I knew they were in trouble but I never thought Shanny would lose the entire team. His arrogance is going to get him fired, I dont see how he could put his fate in the hands of Rex Grossman.

I just hope Dallas has learned from the past and comes out ready to play. They cant afford a slip up this month.

Putting it in Beck has not been any better. Skins are in need of a QB and Grossman/Beck is not the answer. Glad this is their problem not ours.

After Troy retired we had our share of Grossman's and Becks. :laugh2:

Repeat of last week. Foot on throat from the opening kickoff. Multiple possessions resulting in TD's by halftime. The game helplessly over so the scrubs get playing time in 2nd half.

Certainly, but at least Jerry kept busy trying to find the right answer. The Skins didnt even try to make a play for Hasselbeck, Orton etc this off season. I dont see how they can watch those 2 for a full season and think they are the answer.

Even more so in regards to the skins. They know their season is history, Bills still had a lot to play for. One thing I know is the skins would love nothing better than to knock us off so the Cowboys need to come into this game prepared, focused and ready to play.

I agree. They did take a shot with McNabb last year and I was a bit surprised that they did not look to bring a QB in the draft this year or at least another option at QB in FA. Just glad this is their problem not ours

"It could get historically ugly" .. he said.

Wow. Guy needs to read some Dale Carnegie.

Is it just this dude, or is the locker room culture that bad in WDC?

It would be fun to watch that game though :)

One team trying to win but failing miserably .. the other team trying not to win but failing miserably ... :D

If you haven't stuck your fork in them by now, now is the time. They sound like they're mentally beaten and ohhh how I love it. We better slaughter them!

I think he's saying wins aren't going to just land in their lap and the team needs to work to get better... Basically he's trying to say that they aren't good enough to expect anything, which is true.

He should have know, but he still signed a 6 yr 36 mil contract. Whoever says players do it for the love of the game are crazy. they only do it for money. Most could care less if they ever win anything, it's all about money.

He should have said "we might not score another TD"

That wouldn't surprise me at all. They suck

I'll bet you the Cowboys themselves don't think they suck and are ready for a tough game. The coaches know their weaknesses and strengths, sure. They know this is a game they should win if they execute well and don't turn the ball over too much. But I doubt they will take this game for granted. They had better not.

This Skins is historically almost always a tough game and upsets aren't uncommon.

These are still the Deadskins folks... Garrett needs to preaching the exact opposite this week, they are still professionals and have pride.
