Commanders defense cowboys defense which one would you take..

Skins defense for now, but the Cowboys youngsters are too good. Higher ceilings there for sure.

Williams is the better coordinator though, hands down.

Depends on what happens in the rest of the offseason and the draft. If they draft a Eugene Wilson type to play FS and get another monter at LOLB to oppose Ware, and Ferguson plays reasonably well and the team stays reasonably healthy.....I'd stack Dallas' Defense against Washington. But those are big if's.

Rich..............

I think I pick Dallas over all. I think its a younger defense, and the strength in the secondary and on the line makes up for a slight possible down at the LB. But bascially I think neither are great defenses, niether create a lot of turn overs are get huge pressure on the QB. Both are good but not great defenses, the difference is about 1 ppg. Thats a pretty irrelevant difference, thats just under 3 TD's on the season.

They do if their feet are cold...

Don't EVEN want to think about where I'd have to hide my Sharpie if I was sockless...

ah I get the point...

or rather you would:laugh2:

I will say Commanders right this very second, but I firmly believe that with home grown talent such as Roy Williams, Terrence Newman, Bradie James, Demarcus Ware, Chris Canty and Marcus Spears that we are sitting in a much better seat to maintain defensive success than you guys are.

I like Taylor of course, but there is no guarantee he does not do some time. I dont think he will at all, but that is a possibility. Carlos Rogers had an ok rookie season, he definitely has potential. Unless I am missing someone that is about all the homegrown talent you have.

Not to say that having outside talent does not mean your defense is good, but by the looks of things, the way you guys manage the cap your players are mostly 3-4 year rentals until proven otherwise.

So in short you guys are slightly better right now, but Dallas has more upside and long term staying power IMO.

Last year the defenses were basically even. So the question is, which defense has more potential to improve.

Answer: Cowboys. Last year they moved to a new scheme, the 3-4. This year they should be much improved. Also, 3 rookies basically were starters, and surely they will improve.

I like the Cowboys personnel, but the Commanders were extremely well coached. Greg Williams schemes were probably some of the best in the league. I'd say it's a push, but if forced to choose I'd say Dallas simply because we have the better players and our defensive scheme is bound to improve with another year of the 3-4 under our belts.

based on how both defenses performed last year?

You realize the 2 defenses were virtually the same in almost every category last year right?

Dallas front 4 > Washington front 4

Dallas LBs < Washington LBs

Dallas CBs > Washington CBs

Dallas safeties = Washington safeties

If Dallas can get another good OLB, I'd take Dallas defense. Right now, the Commanders are better.

What teams board is this? What is gonna be 95% of their answers? They're pretty close, i'm not even gonna choose one.

Both our starting safeties combined are better than your starting 2.

Adam Archuleta is only marginally better than Keith Davis, and Roy Williams is better than ST by a fairly wide margin
