First off, we don't know if the Cowboys even put in a selection in any round for Alexander or Beal. Second, both player taken were selected in the top half of the rounds chosen (3 and 5) which is where they both were predicted to go so unless Dallas was willing to ante up a better pick, i.e. 2nd or 4th they didn't have a chance of either one. Neither was worth a 2nd although I do believe Beal in the third was a good pick but with Alexander's history off the field then a 7th would be the max I would have given for him.

That does tend to be the case in the supplemental draft it seems. I'm glad we didn't feel the need to reach for these guys and instead saved our picks for next year when we can focus on baggage-free guys.

Great selection. Alexander was a projected 2nd rounder in 2019. Highly unlikely they would have found a better prospect in round 6.
