The Commanders have given up the second-most amount of deep passes (20 or more yards) in the NFL this season.

Washington has a great defensive reputation, but their secondary is thin at best right now. It's a fine matchup for Plaxico Burress and Eli Manning.

That is if the HC does not send Plaxico to the bench as he did in their last game. Giants look like a team on the verge of collapse and it is self inflicted as players have started pointing fingers at one another and the HC

this is true and its a concern. no springs is part of it. there hasnt been any pass rush til last week. and AA finally looked a little more comfy in the secondary. hopefully that trend wont continue.

From KC Joyner's chat yesterday

Todd, Raleigh: The skins gave up a ton of yards to the Jags last week, is this the trend or just one game?

KC Joyner: Pick trend in that one. Carlos Rogers' metrics are awful and Kenny Wright is nearly as bad. Sean Taylor is having some coverage issues as well. They need Shawn Springs back and healthy ASAP.

What's interesting is the Giants secondary is just as bad as the Skins right now...and they're D overall really isn't getting any pressure either, which is surprising. Kinda hard to pick who's going to win.

Yes, but the Skins have hit a bit of a winning streak, and coincidently it started when Portis returned to their lineup. It goes to show you the impoertance of what a good running game in the NFL can do for you, like overcome weaknesses in your secondary. The more you can control the clock on offense, the less a bad defense is on the field making mistakes. In the Skins case it also shows that the key to stoppoing them is stopping the run. Do that and the wheels will fall off of their buggy.
