Apparently, the Skins can still make the Playoffs with a Cowboys loss tonight.
They'd also need to beat the Giants & the Lions to beat the Packers next week,

Yes. The Commanders need to finish 9-6-1 and hope the Lions or Packers end up 9-7 to get in. The 10-5 Giants have one of the two wild cards locked down; so the Commanders are battling the NFC North runner-up for the last wild card.

I haven't checked closely, but I *believe* the two scenarios for the Commanders are ..

1) If the Cowboys beat the Lions tonight, then the Commanders are in the playoffs if they win next week against the Giants.
2) If the Cowboys lose to the Lions tonight, then the Commanders are in the playoffs if they win next week against the Giants AND the Lions beat the Packers next week in Detroit.

So, basically the Commanders are huge Cowboys fans tonight regardless of what they say publicly. A win puts them in control of their playoff destiny. A Cowboys loss and they will need help.

Correct, the last Wild card will go to Washington, Green Bay or Detroit. Websites will still show Tampa Bay as "alive" but it's nearly impossible for them to get in, Washington would have to tie and other games have to go a certain way and they have to win so as far as I'm concerned they're out.

They have to beat the Giants, but can still get in if the Lions win tonight AND beat Green Bay next week. The Packers would be out in that scenario, and the Lions would jump up to the 2 seed.

Atlanta would have to also lose to the Saints for them to get the 2 seed in that scenario. Atlanta has the 2 seed unless they lose. They would have strength of schedule tiebreaker over Detroit.

Rare win-win situation tonight as a fan. Winning is always a win but if we do lose, it also has the winning element of seriously damaging the skins playoff hopes while doing nothing to the Cowboys.

I know Commanders are probably our historically greatest rivals but I'd rather face Kirk Cousins in the playoffs than Aaron Rodgers. Although Green Bay controls their own destiny I actually hope Washington and Detroit get instead. It's unlikely though but all I care about is getting to the Super Bowl.

The Commanders need the Cowboys to win to control their own destiny next week. Unless you think the Lions/Packers tie.

If the Cowboys lose then the Commanders need the Lions to beat the Packers.

So yeah. They're Cowboys fans tonight. Whether they like it or not.
