Commanders add Richmond Flowers as coaching assistant 2/17/2010 1:17:24 PM
Rick Maese of the Washington Post reports the Commanders announced today the addition of Richmond Flowers as a coaching assistant. Flowers is a former college teammate of offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan at Duke University and was present at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., last month. He has no previous coaching experience.
Flowers was seventh-round draft pick by Jacksonville in 2001 and spent most of that year on Dallas' practice squad. In 2002, he was on the Commanders' practice squad, and spent the 2003 preseason with Washington as well. He played three seasons at wide receiver for Duke and spent his final season of college eligibility with Tennessee-Chattanooga.
